Chapter 47

• As the day wore on, I started to feel better. The medicine that Mrs. Isabella had given me was working wonders, and my fever had subsided. My muscles were no longer achy, and I was starting to feel like myself again.
• I sat up in bed, feeling much more alert than I had in days. I looked around the room and noticed how small and simple it was. There was a single window that let in a little bit of light, and a small desk against one wall. It wasn't much, but it was all I needed.
• I got out of bed and stretched my legs. It felt good to move again. I walked over to the desk and sat down, feeling more energized than I had in a long time.
