Chapter 45

  • I returned to the Packhouse in a mood that was far from pleasant. My mind was heavy with thoughts and my heart was burdened with a deep sense of despair. The pack members greeted me as I walked in, but I didn't respond to any of them. I just kept walking until I reached my room.
  • As soon as I entered my room, I closed the door behind me and leaned against it, trying to steady my breathing. I was in no mood to talk to anyone, not even Evelyn. She came to my room, hoping to talk to me, but I asked her to leave. I didn't want her to see me like this, so moody and withdrawn.
  • I sat on my bed, staring blankly at the wall in front of me. My mind was in turmoil, my thoughts racing faster than my heart. The weight of my responsibilities as Alpha was getting heavier with each passing day, and I didn't know how much longer I could carry the burden.
