Chapter 7

  • THIRD PERSON POV
  • Victoria's heart pounded in her chest as she crouched behind the cold stone walls, trying to catch her breath. The pack she had stumbled upon was massive, and the number of guards patrolling the area was overwhelming.
  • She knew she had to remain hidden and quiet to avoid detection.
  • Victoria seemed to keep panting nonstop while she hid behind the walls.
  • Peeking through a narrow opening in the wall, Victoria carefully observed the movements of the guards. They were on high alert, vigilant for any signs of intruders.
  • Their weapons glinted in the moonlight, and their eyes scanned the surroundings, making it clear that they would show no mercy to anyone who dared to trespass.
  • "A prisoner has escaped and the Alpha wants us to find and kill her!" The voice echoed while she hid in the wall while sweating profusely.
  • Victoria's heart sank as she overheard the guards' conversation. The stakes had just gotten even higher, and she knew that her life was in imminent danger. The words "find and kill her" echoed in her mind, intensifying her sense of urgency.
  • Remaining as still as possible, Victoria listened intently to the guards' movements. She needed to time her escape carefully, avoiding any encounters with the patrolling wolves.
  • The pack's territory was vast, and steering through it undetected seemed like an impossible task.
  • As the guards dispersed to search for her, Victoria knew she had to act quickly. She took a deep breath to steady herself, and then, with nerves of steel, she began to move with silent precision.
  • Avoiding the main paths and sticking to the shadows, Victoria made her way through the dense undergrowth. Every rustle of leaves, every snap of a twig, seemed to echo like thunder in the still night air.
  • Time seemed to stretch as she cautiously slipped past guards and hid behind trees and bushes. Her heart pounded loudly in her ears, drowning out all other sounds. One wrong move, one slip-up, and it could all be over.
  • She was almost at the other escape zone when a patrolling wolf caught a glimpse of her before alerting the others.
  • Victoria's heart skipped a beat as the patrolling wolf's eyes locked onto hers. She knew she had been spotted, and panic surged through her veins.
  • There was no time to waste. She quickly sprinted towards the other escape zone, hoping to outrun the pursuing guards who had now alerted the rest.
  • The wolf's howl pierced the night, signaling to the others that she had been found. The pack was now in pursuit, and Victoria's chances of escaping unscathed were diminishing rapidly.
  • Her breaths came in gasps as she pushed herself harder, her legs carrying her as fast as they could. The distant sound of snarls and growls urged her to go faster, and she fought to keep her focus amidst the chaos.
  • Branches and bushes whipped past her, and the ground beneath her feet felt uneven and treacherous. The sounds of pursuit grew louder, and she knew that she couldn't outrun them for long.
  • In a desperate bid to confuse her pursuers, Victoria veered off the beaten path, darting into thickets and undergrowth. She hoped to throw them off her trail, but the pack was relentless.
  • Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the sounds of pursuit faded away, and silence settled once again. She came out of her hiding and instantly ventured into the woods.
  • The moonlight leaked through the dull veil of a tree, casting strange shadows on the forest floor. Victoria's heart pounded in her chest, panic coursed through her veins as she pushed herself to keep running.
  • The sound of leaves rustling under their paws grew louder, the chase of her pursuit seemed to be closing in on her.
  • Victoria ran swiftly into the deeper woods, her heavy breathing in the cool air. Her swollen feet were trying so hard to run while she felt chilly in her skin.
  • Victoria could vouch that they were just a few feet behind her by the sound of their paws on the ground and their heavy breathing while they chased after her.
  • She glanced over her shoulder, catching a glimpse of their menacing figures. Their eyes glowed like fiery orbs in the darkness, filled with a hunger that sent shivers down her spine.
  • They were relentless, fueled by a simple impulse to hunt and capture their prey. But she wasn't ready to be their victim just yet.
  • The branches whipped against Victoria's face, leaving scratches and traces of blood. The pain was a constant reminder of the danger lurking behind her.
  • Fear gripped her every step, urging her to go faster, to find a way to escape this nightmare.
  • Victoria knew that she couldn't let them catch her. She wouldn't let them tear her apart like they had done to so many others.
  • Victoria's mind raced, searching for a plan, an escape route. But the woods seemed endless, just like an incomprehensible maze of twisted trees and unseen paths.
  • Panic threatened to consume her, but she fought to keep her focus. Victoria knew that she needed to stay one step ahead, to outsmart them somehow.
  • She veered off the beaten path, hoping to lose them in the chaos of the forest.
  • Victoria's feet stumbled over roots and rocks, but she still pushed forward, her courage seemed to be burning brighter than ever. The sounds of pursuit grew fainter, giving her a glimmer of hope. Maybe she truly had a chance of survival.
  • But just as Victoria had started to believe in her brief redemption, a low growl echoed through the trees. She froze, her breath catching in her throat. They had found her and they were closer than ever. The chase was far from over.
  • Victoria took off again, her muscles protesting with every stride. Her lungs burned with sweat, pleading for a moment's rest.
  • But there was no time for weakness. Survival was her only goal, and only purpose. She had to keep running, keep fighting, until she eventually found a way to break free from this nightmare.
  • As Victoria sprinted through the wood, the cold air stung her swollen cheeks and the scent of damp earth filled her nostrils.
  • Desperation fueled her every move, motivating her forward. The hope for salvation flickered in the depths of her being, a tiny flame that refused to be extinguished.
  • But a tear drizzled down Victoria's cheeks when she was pulled by the hair.
  • Victoria screamed in pain as her hair was yanked back, forcing her to come to an abrupt halt. The world spun around her as she stumbled, her captor's grip seemed unyielding.
  • She glanced up, meeting the cold, malicious eyes of her pursuer.
  • "Thought you could escape, did you?" he sneered, his voice dripping with sadistic pleasure.
  • His face was contorted with a sickening grin, revealing yellowed teeth that seemed more feral than human.
  • Fear flooded Victoria's veins once again, but she refused to let it paralyze her. She struggled against his grasp, clawing at his hands, but his grip only tightened.
  • Pain shot through her scalp, but she bit my lip to stifle the cries threatening to escape her lips.
  • "Let me go!" She pleaded.
  • "Why would I? You won't be able to leave here alive!" He said, as Victoria's whole existence was weakened by his words.
  • But she refused to surrender to sorrow. There had to be a way out, a sliver of hope hidden within the darkness. Victoria's mind raced, searching for a plan, a weakness to exploit.
  • She couldn't let this be the end, not after all Gamma Josephine did to get her out alive.
