• Since the incident with Donovan, I'd been doing my best to avoid him. I even ended up dropping his meal once before he arrived. I made sure to keep my distance. As usual, I pulled the door open cautiously, peering through to check if it was empty. Fortunately, there was nobody in sight.
• I entered cautiously, taking care to place the food I had brought. Just as I turned to leave, the door creaked open slightly and the Alpha walked in. I quickly lowered my gaze in a respectful bow, intending to make my exit. However, his voice stopped me in my tracks.
