Chapter 1
- CHAPTER 1
- VICTORIA POV
- The moonlight leaked through the dull veil of trees, casting strange shadows on the forest floor. My heart pounded in my chest, panic coursing through my veins, as I pushed myself to keep running. The sound of leaves rustling under their paws grew louder, the pace of their pursuit closing in on me.
- I ran swiftly into the deeper woods, my heavy breathing in the cool air, my swollen feet trying so hard to run while I felt chilly in my skin.
- I could hear their paws on the ground and heavy breathing while they chased after me.
- I glanced over my shoulder, catching a glimpse of their menacing figures. Their eyes glowed like fiery orbs in the darkness, filled with a hunger that sent shivers down my spine. They were relentless, fueled by a simple impulse to hunt and capture their prey. But I wasn't ready to be their victim just yet.
- The branches whipped against my face, leaving scratches and traces of blood. The pain was a constant reminder of the danger lurking behind me.
- Fear gripped my every step, urging me to go faster, to find a way to escape this nightmare. I couldn't let them catch me. I wouldn't let them tear me apart like they had done to so many others.
- My mind raced, searching for a plan, an escape route. But the woods seemed endless, just like an incomprehensible maze of twisted trees and unseen paths.
- Panic threatened to consume me, but I fought to keep my focus. I needed to stay one step ahead, to outsmart them somehow.
- I veered off the beaten path, hoping to lose them in the chaos of the forest.
- My feet stumbled over roots and rocks, but I pushed forward, my courage burning brighter than ever. The sounds of pursuit grew fainter, giving me a glimmer of hope. Maybe I had a chance.
- But just as I started to believe in my brief redemption, a low growl echoed through the trees. I froze, my breath catching in my throat. They had found me. They were closer than ever. The chase was far from over.
- I took off again, my muscles protesting with every stride. My lungs burned with sweat, pleading for a moment's rest.
- But there was no time for weakness. Survival was my only goal, my only purpose. I had to keep running, keep fighting, until I found a way to break free from this nightmare.
- As I sprinted through the wood, the cold air stung my cheeks and the scent of damp earth filled my nostrils. Desperation fueled my every move, motivating me forward. The hope for salvation flickered in the depths of my being, a tiny flame that refused to be extinguished.
- A tear drizzled down my cheeks when I was pulled by the hair.
- I screamed in pain as my hair was yanked back, forcing me to come to an abrupt halt. The world spun around me as I stumbled, my captor's grip unyielding. I glanced up, meeting the cold, malicious eyes of my pursuer.
- "Thought you could escape, did you?" he sneered, his voice dripping with sadistic pleasure.
- His face was contorted with a sickening grin, revealing yellowed teeth that seemed more feral than human.
- Fear flooded my veins once again, but I refused to let it paralyze me. I struggled against his grasp, clawing at his hands, but his grip only tightened.
- Pain shot through my scalp, but I bit my lip to stifle the cries threatening to escape.
- "Let me go!" I pleaded.
- "Why would I? You won't be able to leave here alive!" He said, as my whole existence was weakened by his words.
- But I refused to surrender to sorrow. There had to be a way out, a sliver of hope hidden within the darkness. My mind raced, searching for a plan, a weakness to exploit. I couldn't let this be the end.
- Summoning every ounce of strength I had left, I mustered a defiant glare and spoke with a voice filled with courage, "You may think you have me trapped, but I won't go down without a fight. You underrated me."
- His grip tightened even further, his nails digging into my scalp, causing searing pain.
- But I refused to let it break me. I had endured so much already, and I wouldn't let this monster be the one to break my spirit.
- With a surge of bravery, I gathered all my strength and brought my knee up with all my might, aiming for his vulnerable spot. The blow secured at the right spot, and he quickly released me with a grunt of pain.
- I didn't waste a moment. I dashed forward, my legs motivated by a revived sense of purpose. The chase resumed, but this time, I refused to be the prey. I would be the hunter.
- "Don't you allow her escape, catch her!" I heard him scream.
- The forest blurred around me as I weaved through trees and leaped over fallen logs. My senses were intensified, every rustle and snap of a twig alerting me to potential danger.
- I had tapped into my primal instincts, fighting for survival with every fiber of my being.
- As I ran, a glimmer of moonlight revealed a narrow path up ahead. It seemed like a way out, a chance to escape this living nightmare. I sprinted towards it, my heart pounding with a mix of hope and desperation.
- But just as I reached the opening, a figure stepped out from the shadows, blocking my path. My breath caught in my throat as I came face to face with another predator, another threat.
- "Going somewhere?" a cold, mocking voice sneered.
- It was a woman, her eyes filled with the same hunger and malice as the man who had pursued me before. She wore a wicked smile, her presence exuding an eerie confidence.
- I took a step back, scanning my surroundings for any possible escape paths. But I was surrounded, trapped in this nightmarish game of cat and mouse.
- Her laughter echoed through the forest, chilling me to the bone. "There's nowhere to run, my dear. Your fate is sealed."
- Desperation nibbled at me, but I refused to surrender. I wouldn't let them break me. I had come too far, endured too much, to give up now.
- With a surge of determination, I locked eyes with my new rival and said, "You may think you've won, but I'll never stop fighting. No matter what you do to me, I'll find a way to survive. You haven't seen the last of me."
- Her smile faltered for a moment, replaced by a flicker of uncertainty. But then it transformed into a wicked grin, and she advanced towards me, ready to claim her prize.
- The chase was far from over. And though the odds were stacked against me, I refused to surrender. I would fight until my last breath, clinging to the flickering flame of hope that burned within me.
- She staggered towards me with a knife, as she tried to stab me countless times, I seemed to dodge her target.
- With every dodge, I felt a surge course through my veins. My reflexes sharpened, my senses heightened. I was no longer just running for my life; I was fighting for it
- As the woman grew more frustrated with each missed strike, her movements became more erratic. It was my chance to strike back. With a burst of strength, I lunged forward, tackling her to the ground.
- The impact knocked the air out of both of us, but I refused to let go of my advantage.
- We wrestled on the forest floor, each of us clawing and scratching in a desperate struggle for a win. Pain radiated through my body as blows were exchanged, but I pushed through, fueled to survive.
- In a moment of opportunity, I managed to grab a nearby rock and swung it with all my might. It connected with a sickening thud, and the woman's grip on me loosened.
- I scrambled to my feet, disoriented but resolved to make the most of my advantage but a piercing pain came from the side of my stomach.
- I stumbled back, my hand instinctively reaching for the source of the pain. Warm blood coated my fingers as I realized I had been stabbed.
- I fell to the cold floor, my breathing hitching in my throat.
- "The Alpha's wish had been granted." The voice screamed while I laid on the floor soaked in my own blood.
- The surges of painful memory flooded in my head, I didn't plan on giving up.
- This is how it all began!
