Chapter 5

  • THIRD PERSON POV
  • "Lock her up and give her no food until she confesses how she seduced me!" Alpha Magnus commanded.
  • Victoria watched as he glared at her in disgust while being pushed away.
  • She wanted to scream and tear him to shreds if she could but this was exactly what she was in front of her superior.
  • The thought of not being able to defend herself from his falseful accusation made her angry.
  • As she was being taken to the dark dungeon, Victoria could escape the whispers from the people around who knew her, and she knew that in no time, Gamma Josephine would be here.
  • The dungeon had cold stone walls and damp floors, and an iron bar. Victoria could feel the moist scent, the door to one of the iron bars was pulled open before she was shoved inside.
  • In the dark dungeon, Victoria felt both anger and fear. She knew she had been falsely accused by Alpha Magnus, but there seemed to be no way to defend herself.
  • The cold stone walls and damp floors only added to her discomfort, making her wish she hadn't met Alpha Magnus last night.
  • She knew that Gamma Josephine would soon arrive, possibly to interrogate her further. Victoria couldn't help but wonder how she could prove her innocence and escape this unjust situation.
  • Victoria walked toward the far end to crouch on the floor but just as she had thought, The voice of Gamma Josephine echoed in the whole dungeon.
  • "Child, what happened?" Gamma Josephine's voice came the moment she was standing at the iron bar.
  • Victoria looked up, her eyes adjusting to the dim light that filtered into the dungeon. "Gamma Josephine," she said, trying to keep her voice steady despite the fear and frustration bubbling within her.
  • "Alpha Magnus accused me of seducing him, but it's not true. I never did anything of the sort."
  • Gamma Josephine's face softened with concern as she listened to Victoria's words. "I believe you, child," she replied gently, "but proving your innocence won't be easy. Alpha Magnus holds significant influence, and his word carries weight."
  • "I know," Victoria sighed, feeling the weight of the unjust situation upon her shoulders. "But there must be some way to clear my name. I swear I did nothing wrong."
  • "There is no way yet, child, what they are accusing of is a great offense in our pack, and I am only but confused right now!" Gamma Josephine said, her hands clutching Victoria's tightly.
  • "I would try my best to talk to the Alpha and see whether I can help get you out of here," she added while Victoria nodded.
  • The moment Gamma Josephine walked out of the dungeon, She was quick to go to the Alpha to have a discussion with him.
  • Gamma Josephine found Alpha Magnus in his private chambers, his face still contorted with anger and frustration. She entered the room with a calm demeanor, knowing that approaching him with aggression would only fuel the fire.
  • "Alpha Magnus," she began, "I've spoken with Victoria, and she vehemently denies the accusations you've made against her."
  • "She's lying!" Alpha Magnus barked. "I know what I felt. She used her charm to manipulate me because I would never have anything to do with a maid," he yelled.
  • "Why don't we investigate more?" Gamma Josephine said.
  • Alpha Magnus scowled but listened reluctantly. Gamma Josephine continued, "I have known Victoria for a long time, and she has proven herself to be a loyal and dedicated member of our pack. It is essential to consider her track record and the absence of any previous misconduct."
  • "Are you doubting my judgment, Gamma?" Alpha Magnus growled, his authority challenged.
  • "No, Alpha, but we must also be fair. A false accusation can tarnish an innocent wolf's reputation forever," Gamma Josephine replied, trying to reason with him.
  • "Then let her confess to how she seduced me into bed!" Alpha Magnus said while he bite onto the red apple in his hands.
  • Gamma Josephine remained composed despite Alpha Magnus's outburst. She knew she had to handle the situation carefully to ensure a fair resolution and not sound odd.
  • "Alpha Magnus," she said calmly, "we mustn't jump to conclusions based on emotions or assumptions. It is essential to conduct a thorough investigation and hear from both sides before making any judgments."
  • "You have no right to lecture my judgement Gamma, the whole pack would only see me as a weak Alpha the moment they find out that a simple worker in my pack got me into bed, what kind of Alpha do you think that makes me?" He yelled out.
  • Gamma Josephine maintained her composure, even in the face of Alpha Magnus's anger. She understood the weight of the accusations and the impact they could have on his reputation as an Alpha. However, she also knew the importance of fair judgment and justice within the pack.
  • "Alpha Magnus, I respect your position and the responsibilities that come with it," she said calmly. "But as the leader of this pack, it is crucial to prioritize truth and fairness over personal pride. A hasty decision could lead to irreversible consequences for both Victoria and yourself."
  • Alpha Magnus grumbled, clearly torn between his desire to protect his image and his duty to be just. Before he could say anything, the door of his chamber pulled open as his mother walked inside.
  • Alpha Magnus's mother, Luna Isabella, was a wise and influential figure within the pack. As the mother of the Alpha, she is a highly respected elder, her words carried great weight.
  • She entered the room with a calm and composed demeanor, her presence immediately commanding attention.
  • "Son," Luna Isabella said in a firm but gentle tone, "may I have a moment to speak with you privately?
  • Alpha Magnus looked surprised but nodded, gesturing for Gamma Josephine to step outside. He exchanged a few words with Gamma Josephine before she respectfully left the room, closing the door behind her.
  • The moment Gamma Esther was out. Luna Isabella slapped her son hard on the face. "You always know how to create a mess," she said disgustedly.
  • The force of Luna Isabella's slap stunned Alpha Magnus, his hand instinctively rising to the reddening side of his face. His mother's action surprised him, as he had not expected such a reaction from her.
  • "Mother, what was that for?" he asked, his voice tinged with both anger and confusion.
  • Luna Isabella's expression remained stern as she looked into her son's eyes. "You are acting like a foolish and reckless young wolf, Magnus," she scolded.
  • "You know that rumors spread faster through those walls, our chances to gain their trust from the Dark Knight pack are limited because of your reckless ways." Luna Isabelle said.
  • "I didn't think it would go this far," Alpha Magnus admitted, his anger subsiding.
  • "Then take care of this mess. Kill her if you have to because this might grow faster than we imagine!" She yelled.
  • Gamma Josephine listened quietly from outside the room, aware of the seriousness of the situation unfolding within. She couldn't believe the turn of events and the level of severity that Luna Isabella was suggesting.
  • She knew she needed to act fast.
