Chapter 5 Wedding Night
- Charlotte sat in front of the vanity in the spacious room and applied cream on her body.
- She just finished having her bath, the room she was in now was the room her in-laws prepared for both her and her husband's wedding night but where was her husband?
- He was nowhere to be found, and after the wedding, she was brought directly to his house.
- There was no reception or anything, he forbade anyone from coming close to the both of them including his family and they respected his wishes.
- He immediately told his driver to bring her to his mansion and got into another car in her presence with his best man.
- The only time he spoke to her was when he was saying his wedding vows, apart from that he never directed any questions to her. He completely ignored her.
- Well, she did not mind but still was he not supposed to return for their wedding night? She was still a virgin and had not prepared herself to lose it yet but he was now her husband and he could demand his right and she will immediately give it to him.
- After applying cream on her body she went to sit on the king-size bed to wait for her husband, after a long time of waiting she fell asleep.

- In the dark of the night in front of the large Moore's headquarters building, a black Bentley was parked outside.
- A man wearing a black suit came out of the building and began to walk in the direction of the car.
- He knocked on the car door and it was opened from the inside, he opened the door of the back seat and got in.
- "She is not the one your grandfather chose on his 79th birthday" Graham the man who just entered said.
- The man who was sitting in the back seat leaned back on his seat lazily "hm I know".
- "You know? What do you mean boss?" Graham asked the man
- Dalton turns his head to look at his assistant who has been with him for many years now, causing the man to move uncomfortably under the gaze of his dark eyes.
- "The one I married today is my real fiancée."
- "Ah?" Now Graham was confused at his words.
- According to his research, the person his boss got married to today was Charlotte instead of Bethany as Dalton's grandfather said.
- Why was his boss now claiming Charlotte to be his real fiancée, was he not supposed to be angry that the Enfield family cheated him and destroyed their company immediately?
- "But the person your grandfather picked on his birthday is her younger sister, not her, so how come she is your real fiancée?"
- "Let's go home" Dalton closed his eyes.
- Graham frowned, most times he felt like punching his boss in the face. He was always speaking around questions thrown at him and always refused to explain himself.
- Dalton opened his eyes when he felt that the car was not moving "Are we leaving or not?"
- "Eh? We are going now boss" Graham turned around with a sheepish smile and told the driver to start the car.
- " What else did you find?"
- "The Enfield family is having some issues in their company and needs your grandfather to help them with money so they agreed with your father to get you married to their daughter".
- "I already know that, what I want to know is why my bride was changed the first time and why she was also asked to marry me again" Dalton opened his eyes and looked straight ahead.
- "Eh? Boss I do not understand what you are saying" Graham scratched his head.
- "You did not get any answer from your research then, go back and research who my wife is and why she was replaced by her sister to become my fiancée and also the reason why she was the one that got married to me today" Dalton closed his eyes once more.
- Graham pushed Gu Jingze on his wheelchair through the silent hallway of his mansion and when they got to the front of the Master's bedroom, Dalton held up his hand.
- "You can stop here, I need everything first thing tomorrow," Dalton told Graham.
- "Yes boss" Graham bowed to him before turning to his back and disappearing down the hallway and out of sight.
- Five minutes after Graham left, Dalton remained in front of the master bedroom door staring at the door with an unfathomable look in his eyes.
- Was she inside the room right now or did she go to another room to sleep? There were so many questions on his mind but there was no answer.
- The look in her eyes when the door of the chapel was first thrown open was one of pain, and then it quickly turned into one of pity when she looked at him but again it changed to one of determination.
- He was confused at those looks but one thing he knew for sure was that this new wife of his pitied him and pity was something he did not want neither was it something he needed or accepted.
- After his accident six months ago the way people look at him changed, even sometimes he caught his mother watching him with a gaze full of pity for him and he does not want it.
- He reached out to push the door open but after some time he changed his mind and instead pushed his wheelchair to his study to continue the work he left unfinished to attend his wedding ceremony this morning.
- Dalton's face contorted with pain as he struggled hard to move out of his wheelchair to his swivel chair behind his office desk and after multiple trials, he felt a feeling of helplessness wash over him.
- This was another feeling he hated, it made him feel handicapped when other people helped him to do little things like moving around.
- After many trials, he gave up and instead pushed his chair away and moved his wheelchair behind the desk, he took his laptop and opened it.
- After a long time, he gave up and closed his laptop cussing in his mind. He could not concentrate on the documents he was working on.
- The image of his wife in her wedding gown and that veil and the innocent smile she kept on throwing at him throughout the whole wedding refused to leave his head.
- What's more, the feel of her soft and pink plump lips pressed against his was still lingering.
- He pushed his wheelchair to his window and gazed out into the dark cold night as he lifted his hand and pressed it against his cold thin lips.
- A glint flashed in his eyes as he continued to look at the moon that was now up in the sky and the starlight night.
