• Ben cast an eye over the men and sighed as he was pretty sure he knew what they found amusing about that. He shared a look with Evelyn, then headed for the stairs with Billings following him.
• Once he was in the master bedroom, he pulled his cell out and started the voice recorder. "Master bedroom," he said. He turned to the sailor and nodded to indicate he was ready. The man spoke quietly into his mic. He nodded when they began the test.
• Ben listened but heard nothing. When he'd initially renovated this home, he'd put extra effort into soundproofing the rooms, and it seemed like that was doing its job even against the vibration noise in the building's frame.
