• We walked inside the house and the two men stayed behind us with their guns pointed at our backs. As we walked in I looked at the corridors for more men and there weren't any. If it was just the two of them and whoever was in there with our mother, Tristan would have no problem taking them out, but we couldn't risk Kate and Alexei. My memories tried to creep in, the flames and the thick black smoke, but I shoved them down, I needed to focus, one slight mistake and everything could go to shit.
• We entered the gaming room and my heart dropped when I saw Kate and Alexei. She was sitting on the sofa and she cradled Alexei against her chest. She looked so scared, her hair was sticking to her face and I could smell the gasoline. Remembering Tristan's words to me, I don't show how I feel, I just nod my head at her and then my eyes move to Savio who is lying on the floor, he's bleeding from his head but apart from that, I don't see any other significant injuries that could stop him from fighting when the time came.
