  • Xavier saw Zarina for the first time at the airport. Mir still remembered how shaken up his brother was when he called him to inform him of what he saw. He couldn’t believe his eyes, and Mir couldn’t believe his ears. It threw him off like anything, gnawing at his anxiety. Mir had to know for himself. When Xavier requested to carry her off before any of their enemies laid eyes on her, Mir never thought twice. He didn’t have to. She was a miracle, his only chance of redemption.
  • “Because I am the one who brought her here, you asshole!” Her words tore through the silence, leaving both the brothers stunned with wide-open mouths.

That girl, Zarina, was so desperate to find her birth mother and get out of that purgatory, it was like a picnic to earn her trust and coax her into believing that I was there to save her. Oh, you would have loved to see her reaction,” she chuckled coldly, leaning her head as if reminiscing about one of her favourite memories. “Like a well-fed lamb before it’s sacrificed,” she added with a grin, shaking her head, earning a growl from Xavier in an instant and a disgusting glower from Mir. But then her face contorted, and she glared back at each of them like they had made fun of her growing age. Angela was extremely possessive of her looks. Everyone knew that. “But unfortunately—”
