Chapter 14 Mateo's Story

• The rain poured down heavily on the city of Milan. The lightning flashes were loud enough to wake Miracle from her sleep. Miracle blinked her eyes several times. Now, Miracle's gaze was drawn to the open window. She immediately got out of bed and stepped towards the open window. Miracle was instantly speechless as she saw that Mateo's car park was still empty. That meant Mateo was still out.
• Miracle quickly dismissed the thought of Mateo. She chose to lay back down on the bed. However, the thirst in Miracle's throat made her turn around and pick up the glass on the table. Miracle cursed under her breath, seeing that the pitcher on the table was empty. She preferred to fetch her drink from the kitchen with no other choice. Miracle could have asked the maid but chose to fetch it herself.
• However, just as Miracle was about to head to the kitchen, her steps stopped when she saw a room that was not closed tightly. Miracle's brow furrowed at the sight of the uncovered space. She seemed to be thinking. Instantly, Miracle remembered that room she was forbidden to enter. Miracle looked doubtful, but she could no longer deny her curiosity.
