Chapter 13 Trouble Knocks
- At the Madrons' villa in Kloria.
- Neil was devastated. Upon realising he had lost his masculinity entirely, he shut himself away in his room, refusing to see anyone.
- Stan and Patricia were furious. Their son had been reduced to such a state, and they didn't know who was to blame.
- "Mr. Madron, I've identified the individual responsible for harming Mr. Neil," Tad, the head of security, reported to Stan in the hall.
- Patricia, overwhelmed with anger, exclaimed, "Who is it? I'll make sure that scoundrel pays!"
- Seeing her son in such a pitiful condition tore at Patricia's heart, though she never considered the girls her son had mistreated.
- Stan interrupted sharply, "Quiet! Our son is suffering because you spoiled him. Let's hear what Tad has discovered first."
- Tad reported, "The person in question is Lewis Snow. He currently serves as the driver and bodyguard for Winona Tate, the CEO of Saffron Group. He disabled Mr. Neil at Nightfall Bar because of Winona."
- Upon hearing the name of her son's attacker, Patricia shouted, "Go capture those two immediately! I want them gone!"
- "Enough! You're being irrational," Stan reprimanded Patricia.
- Stan was a cautious man. When it came to his adversaries, he would either not take any action or act decisively. This cautiousness had kept him steady in the business world for many years.
- The following day, upon arriving at the company, Winona received a substantial order worth millions. It was for the domestic distribution rights of a foreign perfume, and the client invited Winona for an evening meeting to discuss further.
- At 6.00 PM, Lewis drove Winona in the Hummer to a private estate in the suburbs named 'Farmhouse Estate'.
- With few cars on the suburban roads, Lewis sped up to 200 miles per hour. Winona, holding her mouth, climbed out of the car and promptly ran to the side to vomit.
- Winona was dressed in a low-cut suit that day, and as Lewis handed her tissues, pretending to assist her, he couldn't help but notice her exposed skin, which stirred his blood.
- "Lewis, you b*stard! You're such a reckless driver!" Winona shouted angrily.
- "Haha, I was just concerned you were in a hurry," Lewis murmured softly.
- Feeling Winona's icy glare, Lewis quickly averted his gaze. It had been a week since his last intimate encounter, leaving him particularly restless.
- After a while, Winona regained her composure. Once ready, she turned and entered the estate's gate.
- Silently following Winona, Lewis diligently performed his bodyguard duties.
- They were led by the staff to a private room for the meeting. Lewis pushed open the door to reveal a well-lit room with a man in his fifties seated inside. He had a square face and a stern expression.
- "Mr. Madron, what brings you here?"
- Upon entering, Winona recognised the man as Stan from Madron Group—the father of Neil, whom Lewis had incapacitated last time.
- "Ms. Tate, you're here. I've been expecting you," Stan said calmly.
- A growing sense of unease crept over Winona as she wondered if she had walked into a trap. She had heard of Stan's ruthless reputation, particularly his early years of amassing wealth through cutthroat means.
- "Mr. Madron, are you also interested in the foreign perfume distribution rights?" Winona asked cautiously.
- "Heh ... Ms. Tate, you're funny. I invited you here to discuss something else," Stan said with a cold smile.
- Feeling a sense of impending danger, Winona stood up to leave.
- "Mr. Madron, since this isn't a business discussion, I'll be taking my leave. Goodbye."
- Winona stood up, feeling increasingly uneasy.
- "Ms. Tate, don't leave just yet. I did invite you here to discuss business," Stan said with a cold smirk.
- Lewis sensed the hostility from their hosts but remained composed. He pulled out a chair next to Winona, smiling as he uncorked a bottle of red wine and poured himself a drink.
- "Not bad at all. Ms. Tate, care for a glass?" Lewis poured a glass for Winona and patted her hand, gesturing for her to relax and trust him to handle things.
- Witnessing this, Stan's two bodyguards behind him cursed loudly, "Who do you think you are, sitting at Mr. Madron's table?"
- "Tsk tsk, Mr. Madron, seems your men are quite rude," Lewis teased.
- Stan had been observing Lewis closely since he arrived. Tall, confident, with striking features—Lewis was clearly no ordinary man.
- "You must be Lewis," Stan acknowledged.
- "Oh, does my reputation precede me? I'm surprised you know who I am, Mr. Madron. Did you come here just for me?" Lewis responded coolly.
- "My son disrespected Ms. Tate last time. But why did you have to destroy his future? Does Ms. Tate not respect me enough to let my son off the hook?" Stan demanded angrily.
- Winona had only known that Neil was beaten by Lewis for attempting to drug her. She had no idea the extent to which Lewis had ruined him. Turning to Lewis, she looked surprised.
- With the pretense dropped, Lewis no longer held back.
- "If you're here to cause trouble, bring it on. I'll handle everything," Lewis declared, standing abruptly from the table.
- Stan slammed his fist on the table, "I'm here because I want justice for my son. Neither of you will leave here today."
- At Stan's signal, about ten black-clad bodyguards burst into the room, surrounding them. Lewis shielded Winona behind him, ready for a fight.
- Seeing Lewis protect her moved Winona. Perhaps he isn't so bad after all.
- Bang!
- Smack!
- Boom!
- Lewis struck first, swiftly incapacitating the guards. Within moments, the room was strewn with unconscious bodies, leaving only Stan and his two remaining guards.
- "Mr. Madron, your men aren't up to the task," Lewis sneered, glaring at Stan.
- "I knew you were skilled, and now I've seen it. But do you think this is all I've got?" Stan growled.
- The two guards aimed their guns at Lewis and Winona.
- "Think you're tough, huh? Do you think you're faster than a bullet?" Stan laughed, revelling in what he perceived as his power over them.
- Lewis stared coldly at Stan, his disdain evident. Behind him, Winona's heart sank, fearing this could be the end.
- Stan grew uneasy as he saw Lewis smirk, seemingly unaffected by the threat.
- "Break his limbs. I want him to be barely alive," Stan ordered his guards urgently.
- Bang! Bang!
- Lewis had already activated the Astral Codex as soon as the other person pulled out their firearm, his inner strength flowing intensely through every part of him. As the two security guards discharged their weapons, he ascended swiftly into the air. Two forceful kicks were aimed directly at them.
- Bam! Bam!
- The pair were sent hurtling away by the charged kicks. Upon touching down, Lewis spread out his hand, where two gleaming bullet tips rested silently. Around him, a whirlwind seemed to swirl.
- Stan paled, trembling as he stammered, "Y-You're not human."
- Lewis's smirk sent chills down Stan's spine. What kind of devil have I provoked?
- Winona stood in awe, astonished that Lewis not only survived but caught the bullets.
- "Anyone who dares shoot at me is already dead. So, you can go to hell!" Lewis whispered in Stan's ear.
- Bang!
- Lewis delivered a devastating punch to Stan's temple, instantly ending his life.
- Afterwards, Lewis neutralised the remaining guards, ensuring none survived before departing with Winona.
- There was a saying, "Better to provoke the Hades than to cross Lupine." In that moment, Lewis's fierce reputation was fully displayed.
