Chapter 7 ~I Can See The Past And The Future~
- I was still writhing in pain, as I sat down and folded my arms.
- “Speak. I am all ears,” I ordered, and shot my gaze at him.
- He snorted and cleared his voice, “My name is Julius Lucky. What I am about telling you is a story my grandfather told me because I was still suckling at the time it happened. My parents died in a mysterious motor accident. At the time my mother was heavily pregnant of me. Fated to survive, I left my mother’s corpse and delivered myself. To date onlookers can’t foretell how I left my mother’s lifeless body without contraction. My grandfather was a witch doctor. He took me into his temple and raised me to be like him. His name was also Julius. In his death bed he told me if ever I would be around to stare into his grey eyes when he would be dying, then I would be blessed with a rare ability which would tremble humanity. Fortunately I was just seated right beside him when he was dying. I was able to stare into his grey bulged eyes. After his death, I discovered myself displaying this rare ability.”
- I shot my jaded frown at him, “What rare ability?” I queried.
- He shut his eyes raised his head and later stared at the ceiling. He breathed uneasily as though his reply was difficult to say.
- “I can see the past and the future.”
- I flinched as I noticed his eyeballs roll inward with just his white eyes glaring at me.
- “Listen up Greg, you just have to be strong and be of good cheer. You have been fated to save humanity and the tragedy that befell your family the other night is just the beginning of it,” he groaned and kept staring into my face, as though to convince me the more.
- I started sweating profusely. What could a weakling like me do? I could barely save myself let alone humanity.
- “Tell me more, Julius. How possible is that? This is all of me. I can barely fight those asshole bullies that are out to murder me, let alone save humanity. If really I could save humanity, I would have started by saving my parents the other night.”
- I broke down in tears. I sniffed.
- “Perk up, Greg and listen up. Your father was a zoologist.”
- Whenever Julius wanted to reveal the past and the future his eyeballs would give way for his whole eyes to bulge.
- He continued, he was the best the Lord Pack has ever known. He discovered the most formidable strain of alpha virus of immortality, which was bizarre. When Lord Mayor consulted your father to sell it to him, he almost did until he discovered his evil agenda.”
- I gave him a curious stare, “What evil agenda?” I asked furiously.
- “Lord Mayor intends to use the virus to achieve immortality and then he would wipe out humanity and replace it with his loyal shape shifters. Your father being a good man wouldn’t want that to happen and so he rejected his offer.”
- He stared at me with his scary, fish-like monstrous eyes.
- “If I may bring to your memory, your father has relocated you and your mom to four different packs in this summer. Am I right?”
- I shook my head curiously and furiously too. “Yes, yes.”
- “All the while Lord Mayor and his shifters have been hunting him and he had been escaping until the other night.”
- I wiped the sweat that surged on my face. Julius was infusing fear in me now. I was just like a fish out of water.
- He continued, “You have the virus in your bag, don’t you?”
- Hastily with trembling hands, I unzipped my bag and brought out the green fluid. My hands were trembling as I wished to cautiously carry this fluid in a glass container without letting it dash on the floor.
- “Be careful,” he warned me, “It must not dash on the floor. If it does it is ruined and you would be unable to save humanity, regrettably your enemies will hunt you and annihilate you. What you have in your hand is four milligram of the most formidable alpha virus. You only need to inject one milligram to shift into an immortal alpha werewolf.
- My hands trembled hugely as my entire body was already profuse with sweat. My gaze remained on the green fluid as I listened attentively.
- But Julius wasn’t interested to continue with the revelation. His white eyes were staring blankly into the space that I perceived he was seeing something. His eyelids seemed to have disappeared out of his eyes.
- Poof!
- He cast a striking stare at me and said more firmly, “We must vacate here this minute. Lord Mayor and his shifters were able to trail you to this place. They are coming.”
