Chapter 7 Wanting To Keep Him To Herself
- But Olivia was no longer the timid servant who needed to be submissive in front of him. He had also personally told her not to come back five years ago!
- Olivia stood in her spot and said calmly, "I don't think there's anything to discuss with you, Mr. Carter. There's something I must clarify. Liam isn't your child!" She said it casually, but Nathan's expression froze. The temperature surrounding him went down.
- "If he's not my child, whose child is he?" His eyes were cold as he glanced at Benjamin beside her and asked sarcastically, "Is it his?" Nathan found the man, who had been in a defensive posture from the beginning, to be a bothersome presence as he stood there. Nathan's already cold gaze turned frostier as his eyes bore into Benjamin.
- Benjamin, inexplicably caught in the crossfire, remained calm. Olivia took a deep breath and said, "I don't think I need to explain to you whose child he is, Mr. Carter. Please return my child to me!" Her expression was inexplicably cold and hard, and she had a hostile demeanor.
- Nathan had a dark, icy expression. She has changed, indeed. Her temperament is different now! In the past, she would be submissive and call him 'sir,' but now she only referred to him as 'Mr. Carter.' She was being highly distant now!
- Just as the atmosphere was getting a little tense, the villa's doors suddenly opened, and Liam's small figure rushed out abruptly. "Mommy, you're finally here?" he shouted in his childish voice, filled with excitement.
- Olivia and Nathan came to their senses when they heard it. They looked away and watched the little one run towards them. Olivia instinctively reached out to catch him, afraid he might fall. As Liam's soft body fell into her arms, she heard him exclaim, "Mommy, I missed you so much!"
- Olivia suddenly lost her temper when she saw how he tried to play nice and fawn on her. She raised her hand and gave him a smack on the butt. "William Monroe, you really need to be disciplined! How dare you come overseas by yourself without my permission? Do you want to be punished?" She berated him sternly but didn't actually exert much force.
- Liam was brilliant and knew how to play coy. He hugged his mom's neck, nuzzled affectionately against her, and apologized, "Mommy, this was my fault. Please don't be angry. I won't do it again!" Although he said that, Olivia didn't believe him at all. Every time he made such a promise, he fled home again. Liam was incredibly bold and devilishly intelligent at such a young age. She didn't have to worry about him being tricked when he went out!
- However, she couldn't stay mad at him. After composing herself, she said firmly, "Pack your things and come back with me immediately."
- Liam, still acting coy, instantly hesitated when he heard this. He first looked up at his unhappy mom, then at the icy Nathan at the side. He seemed somewhat cautious as he said, "Mommy, can we not go back? I... I found Daddy..." He wanted to stay with his dad!
- "Daddy?" Olivia suddenly frowned, "Who told you he's your daddy?"
- "I checked!" Liam pouted, feeling slightly wronged. "I even did a DNA test. It can't be wrong."
- The little boy's eyes reddened. As he pulled on a corner of Olivia's clothes, tears ran down his face. His sad, babyish voice was heartbreaking. "Mommy, I want Daddy. All my classmates in school taunt me for being an illegitimate child with no father. Now that I finally found Daddy, I want to stay with him!"
- Olivia's heart suddenly sank when she heard it. It pained her, and she felt distressed. Over the years, she had been raising Liam alone. She was busy, but she had tried to love him as much as possible so he wouldn't lack anything. He grew up strong, intelligent, and mature. Whenever she was weary, he would comfort her at the perfect moment. But he had never expressed such sentiments to her before.
- Now that he suddenly confessed he desired a dad, her heart felt like it broke into a million pieces! Did he run away all those times to look for his father? As it turned out, regardless of how mature he was, he still wanted a father. Olivia's heart was breaking into pieces, but... she still selfishly wanted to keep him all to herself. I don't like to share him with anyone!
