• "Mrs. Carter," Ethan greeted her respectfully. Liam stood there nonchalantly and blinked, looking quite relaxed. Emily glanced at them indifferently and instructed Ethan, "Nathan said he left an important document on the desk in the office. He asked you to deliver it."
• "Oh?" Ethan was taken aback and somewhat skeptical. He had brought the necessary documents with him when he came earlier. Did I forget something? He instinctively moved to leave. Mr. Carter was always strict and disliked careless behavior. Today's meeting with Mr. Quince was crucial, and he couldn't afford any mistakes.
• But after taking a few steps, he remembered Liam was still here. Mr. Carter had instructed him to watch over Liam before leaving. Upon seeing this, Emily spoke up. "You can leave him with me." Ethan indistinctly felt something was wrong, but he still nodded. "Sorry for the trouble, Mrs. Carter." He quickly left after that.
