Chapter 18 The Confession

• She learned from Joli that Brent was in Manila, busy with the construction of his condo and rent pad. Hannah had accompanied him to Manila a day earlier. The news saddened her because it felt like Brent had only passed through her life again to reopen the wounds that were beginning to heal.
• For the past few days, she had been in touch with William, her cousin's boss in Dubai, through video calls. He was kind, and she was slowly allowing him to get closer to her. Despite the distance, he managed to show his interest in her every day, calling or messaging without fail. He even sent flowers that her mother found delightful.
• It had been two weeks since she last saw Brent. Joe called, saying their group of friends planned to return to the resort they had visited before. Katrina and Eunice had already agreed, but Eunice's husband and Katrina's fiancé couldn't join due to work. Joe would bring his partner, and Nick would also come with his wife. She agreed, although Joe did not mention whether Brent would be there. She wanted to ask but decided against it.
