Chapter 4 Two Adorable Children

  • Five years later, at Hillscester International Airport, Sophie Chapman was struggling to make her way through the crowded terminal, trying to get a better view at the front.
  • At that moment, an eye-catching group—a woman and two children—emerged from the arrivals terminal.
  • The woman was casually dressed in a white sweatshirt and ripped jeans, with a pair of flamboyant flip-flops on her feet.
  • Despite her laid-back attire, her stunning beauty was undeniable.
  • Her features were delicate, her skin soft, and her physique perfectly balanced.
  • She held the hands of two little ones, scanning the crowd as if looking for someone.
  • The children beside her were exceptionally attractive, with pert little noses and large eyes that sparkled like stars, their appearance reminiscent of celestial cherubs descended to earth.
  • This group instantly drew the attention of onlookers.
  • “Wow, check them out. One adult and two kids, all so gorgeous!”
  • “Such amazing genes, they make me want to start a family...”
  • “Rae, over here!” Sophie called out energetically, waving and making her way to the trio.
  • Seeing Sophie, Raelynn's face lit up with a smile.
  • “Hello, Ms. Chapman!” the two identical children chimed in unison, their adorable voices making Sophie's heart swell with joy.
  • “My dear little ones, I've missed you so much.”
  • Though dressed alike and appearing similar, the twins were fraternal—one boy and one girl.
  • Reagan Norris, the boy, was quiet and reserved, already showing signs of a budding computer whiz.
  • His sister, Heather Norris, was lively and full of energy, a true little foodie.
  • As Sophie engaged with the twins, Raelynn spoke up. “Sophie, could you watch the kids for a moment? I need to pick up our luggage.”
  • Completely captivated by the children, Sophie nodded absently. “Go ahead, go ahead. I'll watch these two little angels,” she assured her.
  • Raelynn couldn't help but chuckle, turning around to retrieve her luggage.
  • Five years earlier, after escaping the ward, Raelynn had encountered a girl in the restroom who resembled her.
  • She gave the girl all her money, exchanged their clothes, and instructed her to distract Jonathan and Yasmine, enabling her successful escape and the eventual birth of her children.
  • Back then, she was filled with uncertainty. Now, however, she felt overwhelming gratitude for having preserved the lives of her two children.
  • As Raelynn walked away, Heather seized the moment to slip away from Sophie and Reagan.
  • Her mother's prohibition against ice cream, long a thorn in her side, was too much to resist any longer.
  • She purchased an ice cream and was contemplating her return when a stir broke out nearby.
  • “She's here! Felicity has arrived!” someone shouted.
  • Amidst her entourage of assistants and bodyguards, Felicity emerged from the VIP lane, poised and aloof in her high heels.
  • Though her acting was not stellar, her relationship with Callum and her role in Thunder had catapulted her to the top ranks of Hillscester's entertainment industry.
  • Small and overwhelmed by the bustling crowd, Heather found herself terrified and crouched down beside a pillar, shivering.
  • “There's a child over there, looking quite scared. Fel, why don't you comfort her? It could be our trending moment for tomorrow,” Ophelia Watson, Felicity's experienced manager, suggested.
  • “You know I can't stand children,” Felicity replied, visibly reluctant.
  • Despite her reaction, Ophelia persisted, “We're about to start filming for Thunder Two; we need some positive publicity.”
  • Reluctantly, Felicity approached Heather, masking her distaste with a warm smile. “Sweetie, don't be scared. I'm here to help you.”
  • As she lifted the child, Felicity felt an unexpected shock—something about the child's features struck a familiar chord...
