Chapter 1 Left With No Other Option
- “Raelynn, please don't hold it against Dad for seeming heartless. The company is currently facing severe financial challenges, and we just don't have the funds available. Moreover, your mom's illness is draining us financially. Please, make it easier on Dad.” Felicity Lorenzo's voice was gentle yet tinged with sarcasm.
- Her tone then softened significantly. “Raelynn, after all, we are sisters. I truly want to help you. If you're willing to undertake that task, you could earn a million. That money would cover your mom's medical bills.”
- A shiver ran down Raelynn Norris' spine as she leaned forward trembling beside her mother's sickbed.
- Noticing her silence, Felicity remained calm. “Raelynn, think it over. If you do nothing, your mom will die. Can you bear to watch her suffer and fade away?”
- Tears reddened Raelynn's eyes, as if her heart was being twisted by a knife. “I can't let Mom die. I won't!”
- “I'll do it,” declared Raelynn, despair flickering in her gaze.
- With a smile as bright as a blooming flower, Felicity responded, “That's the spirit.”
- An hour later, at Dark Orchid Club, Raelynn, still hesitant, was ushered by Felicity into a pitch-dark private room.
- In that darkness, a man, wild as a beast, pounced at her.
- Raelynn endured the ordeal, wishing fervently for the nightmare to end. Yet, the nightmare seemed like an abyss, pulling her deeper into its depths...
- Next door, Felicity leisurely scrolled through her phone.
- Danny is in his fifties but still full of vigor. It's quite a surprise, really.
- The thought of innocent, sweet Raelynn being corrupted by this man filled her with a perverse sense of satisfaction, and Felicity was intrigued to see how Raelynn would continue to maintain her dignity as the legal wife's daughter in her presence.
- The man in the room, Danny Farrow, was the director of the hit film Thunder. He had promised Felicity the leading role in the film as long as she complied.
- But spending time with Danny, a repulsively sleazy man, was not something she desired. If Raelynn could take her place, it would be an ideal solution.
- As dawn broke, Raelynn staggered next door, her eyes bloodshot, her body shaking uncontrollably. “Give me the money,” she demanded.
- Felicity looked her over, scoffed dismissively, and threw her a card. “Keep this to yourself, or don't blame me for what happens next.”
- With that, Felicity stumbled into the adjacent room and collapsed onto the bed. Preparing herself, she gently nudged the man beside her. “Hey, I'm already yours, you know. You have to keep your promise.”
- In the dim light, the man stood up, his voice deep and charismatic. “I'll take responsibility for you. Thank you for saving me.”
- His voice caused Felicity's heart to flutter pleasantly. At the same time, a sudden realization dawned upon her.
- This isn't Danny. Danny's voice is croaky!
- Felicity reached out, snapped on the bedside lamp, and gawked at the man before her.
- He was tall, lean, with a strikingly handsome face that seemed to glow.
- Upon closer inspection, Felicity nearly gasped aloud in shock.
- It's Callum!
- The man in question was none other than Callum Nicholson, the third son of the influential Nicholson family from Hillscester, a man whose mere actions could influence the entire city.
