Chapter 31 Regret & Redemption (1)

• Scarlet closed her eyes, and tears gently trickled down her cheeks as she thought about it. After a while, she opened them so that she could look at the river that was rather deep. She had already made up her mind. There was no life in the middle of humiliation, yet there was also no death associated with it. Rather than put up with the contemptuous remarks of both her relatives and outsiders, she would rather die in honor.
• Tears began to fill up in her eyes, which turned red. She brushed away each tear that dropped with great force, restraining herself from shedding another one as she did so. Her pupils were bloodshot but determined as she stared back at the river the second time.
• She turned around and looked behind her car to see if anyone was there. Finding no one, she started the engine and rapidly reversed, dirt scattering and wheels screeching.
