• "Sof, are you alright? I know you are worried about King Lestat," Ella said. We were in her room up on Eric and Tammie's floor. Ethan wanted to make sure we were safe, so he thought it would be best for us to go to their floor. Nick, Jason, and some of the other guards that Ethan trusted were up there with us. Layla was sitting in Ella's room with us, and Brittany was asleep. We hadn't really spent much time with Layla because she was adjusting to being in the Castle.
• Ethan and Eric were out with the guards looking for King Lestat. I was sure they weren't going to find him. He had to be long gone by now, and there was no way he was going to a place they would think of looking. Tabatha went with them, but I didn't think they would find him. Helena was stronger than her.
