Chapter 6 Seen In Motion

  • Even though Evelyn had reached her breaking point, the man showed no concern. "Won't you let me go, please?" Her voice was trembling, she asked. He remained silent for a while. You approached me initially. It was she who went up to him in that club and made plans to stay the night. He was no longer interested in a sexual partner because of unpleasant experiences from the past. But even at thirty-two, Huston found that he still needed someone to meet his demands. Meanwhile, Evelyn was overcome with regret. Had she known Huston's real identity, she would never have gone up to him! However, the past could not be altered. Huston's eyes went to the woman who was squatting on the ground.
  • At last, he slipped his arms beneath hers, hauled her up, and laid her carefully on the bed, draping a blanket over her. "Take a nap. Next, tidy yourself up. I'll return shortly. Evelyn felt a wave of anger as she watched him go. "If I pay you with my body, will you help me seek revenge against the Graves?" she boldly said, grabbing his sleeve. Surprised, Huston raised his eyebrows. He had not expected her to have a change of heart. "Yes." Then, mustering her resolve, Evelyn continued, "I have another request." "I recently graduated from the University of Toronto Law School, and I'm only 24 years old. I am completely qualified and knowledgeable. Can you assist me in becoming a licensed attorney? It surprised him.
  • This was not what he had anticipated her asking for, but anything else. He was unaware of her high level of education. "You studied to become a lawyer?" "Yes." "So, why did you part with it?" Evelyn's eyes went gloomy. "Since I got married. Back ago, Nora wanted Evelyn to become a housewife, so she pushed that Evelyn get married as soon as she graduated. Grateful for Jerry, Evelyn consented to everything. Her love of the law, however, did not fade. She was receiving as much advantage as possible if she had to sleep with the jerk before her. After all, her parents relied on her, and she had to make sure she had a job following the divorce. He said nothing at all. Evelyn became nervous when he lit a cigarette and peered at her through the smoke.
