Chapter 3 Separation Settlement

  • After leaving the club, Evelyn's head was swimming. She had an affair with a patron rather than the club host. It made no difference. Either way, she had slept with someone. But why was she feeling so weird? When Jerry first cheated on her, she wondered if he felt the same way. Suddenly, her phone rang inside her purse. It was Jerry. "You call me? How dare you?" "You spent the entire night out! How in the hell did you disappear? Her ear was filled with Jerry's abrasive voice. Bitterly, she grinned. How is it going for you?
  • Have you had enough of Maura already? "Don't speak to me in that manner. Anywhere is an option for you to go. To let you know that Mom will be home today, I'm calling. It is imperative that you return by midday. Jerry didn’t feel guilty at all. As before, he used her as a tool to deal with outsiders. But she vowed to stop being his instrument. "So, rather than me, you should go find Maura." "You." She hung up before he could finish. She used to be so enamored of him that she would always ask him to end the call first. She was feeling only disdain now. She purchased the most exquisite clothing of the season at the biggest mall in the city. Despite the chaos in her life, she is unable to show her frailty to others.
  • She got a taxi back to Hill Villa after leaving the mall. She was here for a confrontation, not to go with Jerry's mother. She started crying as soon as she walked through the gate. Numerous recollections existed regarding them. But that was absurd at the moment. Maura was gone, as were the red high heels by the door. Jerry observed Evelyn enter. Seeing her in her new clothing, he stood up from the sofa. Anger warped his attractive and compassionate features. "Where did you go?" She allowed him to misinterpret and relished the thrill of getting even. "I won't act as though nothing occurred. I'm here to be honest with your mother. Evelyn had never been strong in his presence. Her newfound tenacity astounded him. "Explain what you mean."
  • Evelyn pressed the resentment in her chest down as she sat on the couch across from him. "I'm ending our marriage. You're with Maura, so I'll grant your desire. Jerry expected her to alter after a night, but this was what he expected. He performed However, he grinned scornfully. "When you leave me, where will you go? Nothing is available to you. In what way would you live? You probably even purchased a beautiful outfit along with my card. Her hands were tightly balled up in her lap. " You requested that I become a housewife! How can you now make fun of me using this? Abruptly, the villa's door opened. An elderly, tasteful woman entered, decked out in a loose, beautiful satin suit with a set of jade jewels around her hands and neck.
  • Nora Levis, Jerry's mother, was there. Jerry held back. "You're here already, Mom?" Evelyn got up and called out, "Mom," out of courtesy. After removing her shoes, Nora set a medication bag on the table. "Evelyn, Dr. Woods has prepared some new medication for you today." "You don't have to bring me medicine anymore," Evelyn replied, glancing at the medication. " Nora hoped that they might start a family as soon as they were married, since she was eager to have a grandson. Evelyn had not become pregnant after a year had passed. Nora felt uneasy.
  • "What topic are you discussing? You don't seem to care that I went to great lengths to obtain you the medication. I wouldn't have needed to work as hard if it weren't for your worthless womb!” "I'm not to blame." Evelyn was at her breaking point. "I've never felt touched by Jerry." She was not concerned about the repercussions at this time. She was sick of keeping it a secret for so long. "What do you mean, exactly?" Nora turned to face her son. "Jerry, is it accurate?" Jerry was surprised that Evelyn really spoke it aloud. Nora was his mother, after all. With a sigh, he took a seat on the couch. Indeed. "You." It astounded Nora. "I don't feel anything for her. Mom, what do you think I can accomplish?
  • "Would I hate her so much if she did it well?" an enraged Jerry asked. Nora gave her son unwavering support. "Evelyn, what did you do to my son that caused him to reject you?" "My best friend, not me, is the object of his interest!" Evelyn gestured towards the upper floor. He was sharing our bed with someone last night. otherwise. Evelyn reasoned that Nora would be less conceited after learning her son was unfaithful, even if she didn't feel bad. She didn't anticipate, though, that she would not only appear astonished but would even turn away. Evelyn gave her a close look, and a horrifying idea started to slowly take shape in her head. "Were you aware that they were partnered?" The vast living room became quiet.
  • When she finally realized this, there was no response. Surprised, she got to her feet. "You really are...” "Evelyn, even if Jerry doesn't touch you, he's still a man with desires," Nord remarked with an uncomfortable cough. If he puts up with that for a long time, it will be detrimental to his health. There was nothing for us to do. Her pitiful justification made Evelyn giggle, and tears started to well up in her eyes. It seemed to her abruptly that there was no use in disputing any longer. Her words, "I want a divorce," were soft.
  • I'll have a settlement drafted by someone. All you have to do is sign it. "Divorce?" Nora scowled. Evelyn, try not to act hastily. How is it possible for you to say that? Are you aware of the kind of life that a woman like you who is divorced will lead? You will not receive any assets from the Graves family in the event of Jerry's divorce. They continued to believe she was after their money. At first, Evelyn wasn't interested in it, but Nora's haughty demeanor made her reconsider. She grabbed her purse, stood in front of the door, and gave them each a quick glance. You'll be sorry you did this. You'll pay for making me seem bad.
