Chapter 174 Getting Drunk
- Late at Night Forty minutes later, the car stopped at the gate of the Red Cauldron. The parking attendant recognized Huston’s license plate, respectfully took the key, and drove away. The manager of the club personally came down to greet him. As Huston entered the private room, Marcellus sat alone on the sofa, casually crossing his legs and smoking a cigar. When he saw Huston enter, he immediately stood up and greeted him. “Huston.” Huston’s face didn’t look good. He walked straight to the seat next to Marcellus and poured a glass from a bottle of liquor worth hundreds of thousands of dollars on the table.
- He drank it straight without mixing it with any base liquor. The fiery liquid slid down his throat, flowing into his stomach, igniting his entire body. Numbness finally gave way to some semblance of sensation in his heart. Huston reached for a second glass, but Marcellus stopped him. “What’s wrong?” Sensing that something was wrong with Huston, Marcellus stopped joking and put on a serious expression. With a scoff, Huston gritted his teeth and puffed up his cheeks. “I’m frustrated.” Frustrated? Marcellus took Huston’s glass of wine and thought about what could have bothered Huston enough to come out late at night for a drink.
- Aside from the unpredictable factor of Evelyn, there was nothing else that could have caused it. “Is it because of Evelyn, my sister-in-law?” He habitually treated Evelyn as his sister-in-law, only realizing it was inappropriate after the words left his mouth. He glanced at Huston and was relieved to see that he didn’t react much. “She… went to see Mia today.” When mentioning the recent incident, the depth of color in Huston’s eyes resembled dark ink. Marcellus’s eyes widened unconsciously. “Evelyn knows it?” “Yes.” Huston placed his hands on his knees and buried half of his face in his palms. “She knows about Mia but doesn’t know about our relationship.” Only then did Marcellus understand why Huston had come to drink with him in the middle of the night.
