Chapter 231: Please Trust Me

• While Fannie waited for a taxi, Kylie and Ethan explained everything to her. As the story concluded, Ethan sighed and lit a cigarette. While they’d been talking, Lucas and Faith had left along with everyone else who had been in the room with them. Dinah had joined Fannie and, by the time their taxi arrived, Kylie and Ethan were the only two left.
• Kylie took Ethan’s hand and suggested that they should take a walk. Ethan nodded amicably, and they began to walk. They had no destination in mind, but the fresh air was nice. Even though they were in the city, there were trees planted sporadically at the sides of the sidewalk, and most of them were in full bloom. There was a wind blowing, but it was a warm wind.
