Chapter 101 Twist
- The first rays of dawn filtered through the curtains, painting the room in soft hues of gold and pink. Amanda stirred, her body tangled in the luxurious sheets that still smelled faintly of Vicktor—spicy and masculine, a scent that made her feel safe and desired all at once. She turned her head, expecting to find him beside her, but the space where he had been was empty, the sheets cool to the touch.
- A flicker of unease ran through her as she sat up, clutching the sheets to her chest. She listened for the faint hum of his voice or the sound of him moving about the penthouse, but all she heard was the city below. The stillness felt out of place, almost unnerving.
- She slid out of bed, her bare feet touching the cool hardwood floor as she wrapped a silk robe around herself. The fabric clung to her curves as she padded toward the living room, her heart racing with a mix of concern and curiosity. Vicktor was always up early, but he never left without a word.
