Chapter 23

• Sarah dropped her forearms on the table and released a sigh.
• "He's not going to tell me anything, is he?" She asked Emily, who stood up from the table to the sink.
• Ace was nowhere in sight. After several unsuccessful attempts to tell her why he had asked Emily to take her from the hospital, he finally got up, ignored his meal and left the cabin. Sarah and Emily had watched him go without a word. They returned to their meal. For several hours they sat there waiting for him to return. Night had given way to dawn. Sarah was terribly tired and sleepy, she really needed to lay down and close her eyes, but her curiosity kept her up.
