Chapter 18
- Ace didn't know the answer to that question. He knew very little about sealing powers. What little he knew comprised of his knowledge that powers could be sealed. He knew nothing about the actual sealing ritual and how to undo it. Yet if it was possible that Sarah was getting her powers, then it wouldn't be long before Edgar discovered them, and he would surely come for his neck.
- "Ace, what do you think?"
- "I don't know," he admitted. Putting his hand on the door, he pushed it open and went in, and his eyes immediately fell on Sarah's sleeping form. A tug at his heart at the sight of her so small and defenseless there made him take a step forward. She was by no means a short girl, nor was she - in real sense - powerless, but seeing her curled up brought him a profound urge to protect her. He was beside the couch, crouching in front of her before he knew it, raising a hand to touch her face.
