• Brandon froze at the sound of the voice, his grip loosening slightly. Slowly, he turned his head to see Lucian standing in the doorway, his face carved in fury, his eyes a storm of rage, and a gun leveled directly at Brandon’s head.
• “I warned you,” Lucian growled, his voice low and lethal. He stepped forward, his finger itching on the trigger. “You just couldn’t stay away.”
• Brandon smirked, trying to mask his fear. “Oh, look who finally decided to show up. What’s the matter, Lucian? Scared I’ll tell her the truth about you?”
