Chapter 7 Wedding Part Three

  • The old man from the Anderson family started panicking inside. Everyone in the chapel was already asking where the bride was. The groom was dressed in a black tailored slim fit suit with a white shirt and a black bow tie. He was standing where he would be receiving his wife. He wanted to leave but the thought of that the marriage certificate has already been made, then there was no point or reason of him giving up. He will have to wait for this to finish, then he will deal with his wife later on for keeping him waiting for so long.
  • He looked at John and said " why are they taking so long to bring our bride? This stinking brat will lose his patience and leave the chapel". John looked at the old man worriedly "let me go outside and take a look." Before he could stand up they had a cahnge of the music that was playing.
  • Everyone turned their heads when they heard the door open with surprised looks. No one had expected that at this wedding they would see the most respected man in the whole country, not even his daughter in law. It has been two years since they last saw the old man from the Richard family.
  • There were rumours about the old man some said that the old man was in life support, some said he died long ago then his son buried him in private. Some even had ideas that the old man probably killed himself because of the disgrace his son brought to the family by marrying that woman.
  • But then here he was, walking with his granddaughter down the aisle. He surely looks like the happiest man in this world. If they didn't know they would say it was his wedding. He was dressed in a formal navy blue tailored suit which one could tell that it was very expensive.
  • Lots of people in the circle knew that the old man doted on one of his grand daughters and he was once heard saying he will not die before walking her down the aisle. So when they saw him this happy, they all understood that this was probably the doted granddaughter. Those close to Mrs Richard can now see this woman has been lying to them and they all asked each other "what more has she lied to them about."
  • Mrs Richard was so scared that she almost peed on her outfit. She did not believe what she was seeing with her eyes. When she looked around she saw how the other women from her circle were looking at her and felt ashamed of herself. But then she was someone with a high self esteem this was nothing, she will deal with whoever speaks I'll of her daughter. One of the ladies looked at her with a questionable look and she angrily glared at her. Her face expression simply said "don't you dare". The lady shrunk her neck in fear of being victimised for everyone knew that no-one messes with Mrs Richard and survives.
  • She bit her lower lip trying to see if she was not dreaming. She thought to herself "if the old man is awake then I am in trouble, he will definitely know that I drugged that stupid man so he will not walk his daughter down the aisle. He will also want to finish what he started before the accident."
  • He walked his granddaughter to Daniel then he said "take care of my granddaughter, she is like a precious stone that is yet to be refined. If you cannot live with her then bring her back home alive and in one piece."
  • Daniel faked his smile, anger was brewing inside him. For the first time in his life he actually did something he did not want to do just because of filial piety. They walked to the officiator and when they got there.
  • Daniel said "be very quick my patience is limited ". The officiator has heard that the young master of the Anderson family had a cold aura that could make one disappear from his face.
  • If it was not that he did not want to lose face in the society, he would leave this place immediately just because of the groom's look. "Yes young master" the officiator said with sweat running down his face. He remembers that the old man did emphasize that he should keep everything as short as possible because his grandson was short tempered. It was very likely for him to leave this place even before the wedding was finished.
  • The officiator cleared his throat and said "Do you Daniel Anderson take Michelle Richard to be your lawful wife to love and to hold, for richer for poor, in sickness and in health till death do you part".
  • Daniel looked at the old man and he was very surprised he does not remember the last time he saw the old man this happy. What surprised him more was that the officiator said a name of a girl which was different from the girl he thought they were forcing him to marry. Now he finally understands why the old man did what he said last night.
  • The old man has indeed gone through so much just to give him what he has been craving for since he first met the girl. This just proves to him that if he leaves right now the old man would be very devastated and the wealthy society will be talking about it for the whole year. "Damn what do I do" he thought to himself.
  • Then he suddenly remembered that he cannot leave this place especially if it is really the girl he has had a crush on since he laid his eyes on her. He decided that he will only disobey his grand father when the girl beneath the veil is not Michelle. If it is really Michelle then he will have to find a way of showing his gratitude to his grandfather for granting him his wish.
