Chapter 5 Wedding Part One
- Saturday morning was a blissful day for some people and a gloomy day for others. The weather was perfect for both indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies. Mrs Richard woke Michelle up, told her to get ready because the car will be by the door in thirty minutes.
- She got up from the bed, went to the bathroom and took a shower. when she got out of the bathroom, there were two helpers waiting for her. "First young miss, madam said we should come help you put on your wedding gown" one of the helpers said so.
- Michelle smiled and said " the last time I had helpers helping with anything was when my mom was still alive. Since she died I have learnt to do things on my own, I do not need any help"
- "First young miss what you are saying is true but please be lenient with us if we go out of your room before you finish dressing up, we might lose our jobs we all know how madame behaves when she is angry" one of the helpers said with a pleading look.
- Michelle was quiet for about thirty seconds and sighed then said "for the sake of your jobs and your families I will keep you in the room but to tell you the truth right now I need some peace and quiet. I do not feel like talking to anyone, I will keep you in the room in one condition you guys should promise me that you will keep quiet."
- Both helpers nodded their heads. One of them took the wedding dress on the bed and they both helped her put it on. She was dazzling in the wedding gown. It fits her perfectly, it was a strapless ball gown with a sweetheart neckline and it had navy blue decorations on the waist.
- The earrings and necklace she put on had navy blue diamond shaped rubies which matched with the gown perfectly. She applied light make up, put on a red lipstick that made her face look exquisite. Her hair was tied into a bun. She was naturally beautiful and the few add ons made her more beautiful.
- She looked at the mirror with glassy eyes and she said to herself "Alright, even though I have heard rumours about my husband to be but I promise you that I will not disappoint you mom. I will do as you have taught me. As much as I do not like the fact that I am marrying someone I have not seen and do not know but I thank the heavens that i am finally leaving this hell house. I am going to start a new life."
- Both helpers had tears running down their cheeks, she pat her eyes dry then turned around and said "let us go I am ready". As soon as she said that the door opened and old helper got in, when she laid her eyes on Michelle she smiled and cried then said "how I wish your mother could see this day.'
- She hugged Michelle and continued to speak saying "I have seen you grow up before my eyes, but today you look more beautiful, the man you marry will definitely be taken by your beauty. Young miss we have only heard rumours about the Anderson family but please don't get there with a mentality of those rumours. Tell yourself that you have not heard anything about them and try to learn their rules and their way of life. Who knows maybe life will be much more better that side than here. Remember your mother's teachings and let the sky be your limit. Do not forget this old woman or I will die with a sad heart."
- "Ah Mrs Hill please do not talk about death, I do not want to lose one more important person in my life and since I will not be around more often please promise to look after grandpa and call me if there is any progress from grandpa's side" said Michelle.
- Mrs Hill nodded even though inside her she knew she won't, there was no way she will reveal to anyone how the old man was. That is the promise she gave the old man.
- She has vowed to keep that promise especially because someone had tried to kill the old man which was why he was admitted at the hospital. Then Michelle said to her "i wish I could run away from this."
- Mrs Hill smiled at her and said "baby girl stop thinking too much, changing your mind right now is useless especially because the marriage certificate was obtained yesterday, the ceremony is just for face."
- "I know, that is the only reason that held me from not running away last night. Yesterday was a perfect day to leave this place because they were all not here. But I asked myself that what was the point of running away when I am already a married woman by law."
- Mrs Hill shook her head and said to her "baby girl I may not know your husband that much but a big part of me believes that this is your step ladder to greater heights. I believe this man will help you regain what your mother worked hard for all those years. They may have thought they are burying you alive by letting you marry an impotent man but they are making you more powerful to stand against them. I have heard and seen your husband's works and methods. He will definitely help you teach them a lesson they will never forget."
- "Mrs Hill I hope he will do that for me. I hope I can learn to be a wife to him. I am scared of getting someone who might treat me like how my father treated my mother. At the same time I do think that people are different, he might not be like him. But the way they have described how powerful he is. How possible is it for him to love me?"
- "Girl don't be like this, both of you may have been forced into this marriage but you will eventually learn to love each other. Treat him like your husband and life will go smoothly. Don't expect too much from him, also be open to him. If there are no secrets between you two then chances of having people come between you will be minimal."
- "Mrs Hill you have taught me a lot, you have taken my mother's place ever since she left and for that I will forever be grateful. Before I leave allow me to say Thank you." She kissed her on the cheeks and hugged her
- "Baby girl your mother helped me a lot in my life and also raised a well groomed child, there is no person in his right mind that could not help such a sweet and respectful child.
