• Sergio stood by the foot of the bed with arms folded, watching as Rosana slept. It had been a week since the incident, and he still couldn't believe it had happened. That anyone would dare to mess with what belonged to him. Fortunately, she was fast recovering. That was the only reason the world wasn't high in flames.
• He had always been a man of action, but the sight of Rosana lying on the bed and fighting hard to recover had softened something inside him. Instead of making plans to get back at the Russians in the most ruthless way like he always does, he found himself glued to her side. He had never been the type to show affection or care for others, but he found himself bringing her meals and medication, feeding her, and watching over her as she slept.
