• ASPEN VESPER
• An hour or two later, a dressed Aspen stepped outside while still steadily ignoring her wolf’s needs. She saw that the van was closer to the building, but Kailin was nowhere in sight. So, with her bag handle tightly pressed in hand, she opened the passenger door and hopped into the vehicle.
• She met Kailin in the driver’s seat. He was deeply asleep, so she carefully reduced the noise coming from her bag and sat still. She also left the door open and remained in that quietness, which was occasionally filled with Kailin’s light breaths.
