• With a terribly squeezed heart, Kailin watched from a distance as the Alpha King of the Rebels hugged Aspen as though she were his lover. Seeing that scene multiplied the pain in his soul. So, while he tried to lie to himself that he wasn't too bothered by the heated conversation that had just transpired between him and Aspen, he quietly walked back to his room.
• But the moment he closed his room door, his legs refused to move, his back glued to the roughness of his sculpted door and without much thought to it, he palmed his face and shed intense tears that made his entire soul and body shiver.
