• “So, let me get this straight.” Dade took another drink of his beer. “You’re reading a story Kasey is writing. I always wondered what she was scribbling in those notebooks. And in the morning, you’re going to play in Leena’s flowerbeds?” He winked at Owen. “The ladies have accepted you with open arms, my friend.”
• Owen picked up his beer and sat back. “Open arms? I wish.” He stared at the bottle in his hand. “Leena is going to drive me crazy, Dade. She’ll wrap herself around me one moment, then she freezes and looks like a scared rabbit wanting to bolt the other way.”
• Dade sighed, “She didn’t have a good marriage. Hell, she was still a kid when she married Tyler.”
