Chapter 40 What Are You Asking?
- It was the first time she had seen anything like it. George was seated at a huge grill on the right side. Liam was floating on his back in the middle of the pool, relaxed.
- She had a sneaky thought and swiftly removed her cover-up and put it on the lounge chair nearest to her. Elizabeth caught her eye and smiled as if she knew exactly what Grace was going to do. Grace jumped while holding her nose and cannonballed right next to Liam. He was coughing and spitting as he came out from beneath the water. He wiped his brow with his palms and glanced about, irritably. When he saw his mother smiling, he went under the water and began grabbing at her feet. Grace was laughing as she felt Liam take her underwater.
- Grace and Liam were playing and splashing in the water, paying little heed to the different eyes that were watching them interact. While witnessing the spectacle unfold, William and Elizabeth both had matching grins of admiration and excitement on their faces. George smiled, pleased to witness the happiness that was presently enveloping their family. Claire's gaze was drawn to her husband, and her grin faded as she saw his frown. Henry's lips were drawn together in a straight line, his gaze darting between Grace and his brother. When he turned around and saw his wife's inquiring stare, he smiled softly and shook his head. He'd tell her later about his ideas.
