Chapter 35 Sleeping In The Same Bed
- “When I returned to leave her a note, I was furious and ruined our bedroom. I hadn't felt that well since before Liam went missing. I ended up staying because I was too depressed to care about anything other than work. I gradually came out of it and began socializing more, but nothing could take my mind off Liam. Every day became easier to take, and on the day I recognized this, I cried inconsolably."
- When he opened his eyes again, they were brimming with tears.
- "My heart skipped a beat when I stepped in here today and saw you. That hasn't occurred in a very long time. My heart grew and broke at the same moment as Mom went up and said you were Liam's adoptive mother and you brought him to visit us. I saw him and recognized him. If she hadn't said anything, I would have known. My heart felt like it was clawing its way out of my chest. When I took him in my arms, all of the years faded away, and I felt normal again. My jealousy and resentment at the circumstances took over when he talked so adoringly with you. You are the absolute last person on the planet who deserves any of it. I'm very sorry, Grace. I hope you'll forgive me."
