Chapter 269 Begging For Help
- After consulting her lawyer, Neal, Sarah felt a sense of satisfaction. Now, I’ll take a step back and let events unfold on their own! Having been on the move all day, she started to feel a wave of fatigue and decided to take a moment to rest, taking a short nap in the car. She had just wrapped up a call with Wolfie, who had already made his way to Ezra’s house and brought all of his belongings along. With a pang of guilt, she made up her mind to pay them a visit. At that moment, her phone rang—it was May, and her voice trembled with emotion as she pleaded, "Sarah, I’m begging you, please let Alaric go!" Although Sarah was aware that Alaric had been taken into custody, she was uncertain whether he had given up any details about Joshua. With this in mind, she set up a meeting with May at a local café.
- Accompanied by Peter, May arrived and immediately began recounting what had happened. Peter told Sarah that Alaric had been detained the previous evening. The authorities had also approached May, collecting both her blood samples and those from a bloodstained bandage to conduct a paternity test and verify if it was connected to Joshua. The moment she locked eyes with Sarah, May began crying uncontrollably, her voice shaky as she pleaded, "Sarah, he assured me that I was his one and only love, and swore to fulfill all of your wishes. And now... they’ve taken him away. What’s the solution to this mess?"
- Sarah’s expression darkened, her anger simmering as she watched her. In a cold, measured voice, she asked, "Who sent you here?" She had made it clear to the authorities yesterday that, under no circumstances, was her identity to be disclosed. May’s sobs broke through as she responded, "It was my idea. I’m at a loss now! Please, I really need your assistance!" Peter, furious, cut in, "She’s lying! It was Mrs. Ramsbottom who coerced her into coming to you!" Sarah’s frustration intensified as she watched her, her patience running thin. She couldn’t help but wonder if there was any sense in her head, aside from all the nonsense.
