Chapter 10 Rescuing A Damsel In Distress

  • The rule of Everbright was that the highest bidder would get to have a drink with the dancing queen, and the dancing queen would get to keep all the tips.
  • That was also the moment Patricia most looked forward to, as it was a money-making opportunity for her.
  • While the men tried to outbid each other, she was silently praying that it would be a profitable night for her.
  • Finally, the competition ended with a winning bid of fifty thousand.
  • “Let's congratulate this lucky gentleman for winning the opportunity to have a drink with Little Doe,” the host announced enthusiastically.
  • The other men wolf-whistled Patricia as she walked down the stage.
  • The fact that she was wearing a conservative white dress seemed to pique their interest even more.
  • Patricia would only work at Everbright if she was allowed to perform one dance only and have one drink a night. Moreover, she had also insisted on picking her own outfit and clearly stated that she would not wear anything revealing.
  • The manager did not agree to her conditions at first. However, she had earned the title of the dancing queen during her week-long trial at the nightlife establishment and had brought in so much business that the manager ended up agreeing to all of her requests.
  • He was ready to accept any conditions she had as long as she continued working there.
  • The man who won the bid was a very big-sized and muscular man. He was wearing a thick gold chain around his neck and was staring at Patricia with a lecherous look in his eyes.
  • Approaching the man with her wine glass in hand, Patricia smiled and said, “Sir, here's a toast to you.”
  • The man could feel his heart melting as he fixed his scorching gaze on Patricia.
  • “I hope you have a great time here tonight!”
  • After saying that, Patricia lifted her wine glass and was about to drink when the man suddenly grabbed her hand.
  • Rubbing her hand, the man smiled lustfully and said, “Little Doe, I didn't pay so much money just to have one drink with you.”
  • Taking a pause, he continued, “Come, sit down and accompany me for a while. I'll pay you more.”
  • Patricia tried to draw her hand out of his grip but to no avail, as the man was simply too strong.
  • It was unavoidable for women to encounter difficult customers while working at a place like that. Having dealt with similar situations before, Patricia was confident that she would be able to handle the man.
  • “Sir, I can only have one drink with you. If you need company, I can get someone else to accompany you.”
  • The man's expression darkened after he heard her words.
  • “You really should take up my offer while I'm still being nice. Regardless of whether you are willing or not, you're mine tonight!” he bellowed.
  • After saying that, he forcefully pulled Patricia into his arms and moved his fat lips toward her face.
  • “Ahh!” Patricia panicked and splashed her wine on the man's face.
  • The customer let go of her at once and started cursing, “F*ck you, b*tch! How dare you splash wine on me! It seems like I have to teach you a lesson for you to know your place.”
  • As he spoke, the man raised his hand and swung it toward Patricia's face!
  • Patricia heard the sound of the wind cutting through the air and closed her eyes, certain that she was going to get slapped.
  • However, contrary to her expectations, the man's hand did not land on her face. Instead, she heard a muffled groan and saw the big-sized customer being kicked to the ground.
  • The next moment, she felt someone grabbing her wrist. Before she could react, the person was already pulling her toward the exit.
  • Patricia looked at the tall and handsome man in front of her and was shocked to see that it was Isaac.
  • She did not struggle and allowed him to lead her out.
  • After all, he had saved her. Hence, no matter how much she hated Adeline, she would not go against her benefactor.
  • As soon as they got out of Everbright, a gust of cold wind swept past, and Patricia could not help but shudder.
  • Isaac was pursing his lips tightly. For some reason, he felt anger rising in him when he saw the woman dancing in front of all those men.
  • Despite his emotions, he removed his jacket and draped it over Patricia's shoulders when he noticed that she was shivering.
  • As he leaned closer to her, he caught a whiff of her sweet scent.
  • Narrowing his eyes imperceptibly, Isaac looked down at Patricia.
  • This smell...
  • He found her scent extremely familiar, but he was sure that he had not met Patricia before.
  • With his hands holding her shoulders, Isaac fixed his gaze on the woman in front of him, resisting the urge to get closer to her.
  • Patricia adjusted the coat before saying, “Thanks!”
  • When Isaac heard that, he snapped out of his daze and immediately let go of the woman.
  • Then, he strode toward his car and opened the door for her.
  • Instead of getting into the car, Patricia turned around and took a glance at Everbright, remembering that she had left her bag and phone there.
  • Isaac's expression darkened as he said coldly, “Are you thinking of going back there and letting them bully you?”
  • Patricia had also detected a hint of mockery in his voice.
  • Her heart instantly sank when she met the man's disdainful gaze.
  • She had almost forgotten that he was Adeline's fiancé, and there was absolutely no reason why he would be so kind as to save her.
  • He must have saved me so that he can humiliate me... Ha! He's exactly like Adeline!
  • At that thought, Patricia removed Isaac's coat and said, “It's none of your business even if I get bullied!”
  • She turned to leave after saying that.
  • Looking at the woman's stubborn figure, Isaac felt a flash of frustration and could not help but frown.
  • A moment later, he pulled her back and shoved her into the car...
