Chapter 27

• Simone turned her focus back to Red just in time to stop a blow to her face. Simone blocked Red's hand and quickly took advantage of the moment by punching Red in the stomach. Red somewhat anticipated her move and pivoted her body, but not enough; Simone still hit her ribs.
• Red took a few steps back and placed a hand over the sore spot as they circled each other. Surprisingly, Red kept her composure, because a few seconds later, she approached Simone again, menacingly.
• She went in for a kick, but Simone grabbed her leg before she could do any damage and fired a kick of her own. Red stumbled back again, and Simone laughed at her in response. Obviously, Red had forgotten her training; it was always wise to wait for your opponent to approach you, not the other way around.
