Chapter 21

• She didn't stay to hear their verdict. Simone went back into the solace of her room, replaying what she had just done. It was reckless and stupid. She wanted to blame the brothers for her lapse in judgment. They were making her lose her mind. It was dangerous. She was dangerous. She could no longer trust herself, and even if she tried to do so without knowing, she couldn’t.
• Darius shoved his brother in anger. "What the hell was that, Lucien?"
• Lucien shrugged nonchalantly. "It is nothing for you to worry about, brother." He understood Darius' concern, but in some way he loved the idea of Simone choosing him and trusting him with her life.
