Chapter 7 Don't Make Any More Decisions Without Consulting Me

• Katherine spent the following two days after refusing to give Ethan a divorce enduring his rudeness. On the third day, she waited for him to leave for the office and went to the hospital for a check"up to make sure everything was okay. Upon arrival, she went straight to the doctor's office."

• The doctor started the ultrasound, and Katherine was very happy at that moment. When she heard the heartbeat of her son, her own heart overflowed with joy, and all the darkness in her life dissipated at that moment, making way for light.

She finishes dinner and goes to her room and has a peaceful night's sleep, the next day, she only goes down for breakfast when Ethan leaves for the office, she stops by her mother's room and watches her sleep. She orders the maids to throw away all the drinks in the house, so that her mother doesn't have any contact. Katherine spent most of the morning with her mother, who remained silent the whole time, struggling with her withdrawal.

• Katherine watches her mother sleep and explores the house, she walks into every room of that house, even though the house is huge, she feels suffocated inside, that place is her prison and even though Ethan is letting her go, she can't, not before her mother recovers. She arrives at Ethan's office and doesn't hesitate to enter and explore the place. She spotted the huge bookshelf, approached it and looked around excitedly, she loves to read, she faced the classics section and saw a copy of the Divine Comedy, the copy is well preserved, she pulled it out and when she opened it, she saw a photo fall to the ground, she bent down and picked up that photo and stared at the photo of the beautiful brunette woman with her green eyes, charming smile, and youthful appearance. She wonders who that beautiful woman is.
