• “Yasmin, quick, check if you’ve lost anything.” Yasmin had just told Serena about the expensive necklace Lionel gifted to her, and now someone had tried to pry open Yasmin’s desk. Instantly, Serena’s back was covered in a cold sweat.
• Hearing Serena’s voice, the other employees came over to ask in concern, “What’s wrong? Did someone steal your things?”
• “I’m not sure if anything’s stolen, but look. Yasmin’s desk is in a mess, and it’s obvious someone tried to pry her drawer open.” Serena pointed at the marks on the lock and the shoe prints on the bottom of the desk. It was as if a detective had possessed her. “These are the marks of high heels. It must have been a woman’s doing.”
