Chapter 9 Abortion

  • Abortion
  • "Patient Number 168, Abby Lane."
  • The nurse came out and announced the number. She quickly scanned through the patients and asked, "Is there a Miss Lane here?"
  • A pale woman with long hair stood up.
  • The nurse looked at her judgingly before asking her to enter the operating room.
  • Abby hesitated for a moment, and she slowly went in as if she had resolved herself to make a big decision.
  • The strange thing was that the moment she entered, the nurse quickly locked the door from outside.
  • There were no doctors in white coats in the room.
  • However, she did see a tall man standing before the window the moment she entered the room.
  • It seemed that the noise from her side caught the man's attention, and he turned his head slightly. His exquisitely chiseled facial features showcased remarkable beauty, yet his aura was as proud as a god. His enigmatic gaze was filled with intimidation.
  • His sharp and hawk-like eyes locked onto Abby firmly.
  • She, too, momentarily lost herself in his unparalleled beauty until his gaze landed on her. Seeing his eyes as if he were sizing up prey, she nervously asked, "Did…I go the wrong room?"
  • Jeremy arched his eyebrow as he went up to her. His tall figure was imposing when he looked down on her, a storm raging in his eyes.
  • "Are you going to abort the child, Miss Lane?"
  • His voice was devoid of warmth.
  • Hearing that, Abby took one step back with horror, her face pale. "And you are?"
  • When Jeremy noticed the fear on her face, the fury he suppressed was lit up once more. Coldly, he replied, "Jeremy Hawkin."
  • Jeremy Hawkin? Abby was taken aback. That name sounds familiar, but I can't remember where I've heard of it.
  • Her petite face looked bewildered, and her eyes appeared to be clouded with a shallow mist as if she were deep in thought.
  • After a moment, Abby suddenly realized something. Her face turned red as she raised her head, gazing into his deep and mysterious eyes. She stuttered, "Dr. Hawkin, will you be performing my surgery…alone?"
  • She glanced around the room from the corner of her eye. Upon noticing that there were no female doctors present, she grew even more nervous. Her hands started to fidget anxiously.
  • However, his icy gaze and deep, meaningful eyes made her even more uneasy.
  • Jeremy remained silent for a while, his narrowed eyes scrutinizing her with a dangerous edge, his slightly raised eyebrows like sharp swords.
  • She seemed to be shy, but more than that, she appeared to be afraid. Yet, it was this kind of innocent reaction that made her seem so adorable.
  • It wasn't a contrived cuteness. This kind of charm sometimes made a man involuntarily want to cherish her.
  • He put on a cold smile. As a subtle mocking curve formed on his thin lips, he blurted out, "Yes, it's just me."
  • He then turned around, pulled back the curtain, and walked to the operating table, patting the cushion.
  • "Hurry up and come here."
  • Abby hesitated for a moment before taking slow, hesitant steps to the table and obediently lying down.
  • The overhead surgical light was too bright, and she squinted, unable to see the man's expression beside her.
  • Jeremy lowered his gaze and watched her fair face shine even more brilliantly under the lights. She might not be a stunning beauty, but her features were exceptionally pure and lovely. When she squinted, her fluttering eyelashes trembled like butterfly wings.
  • Half of his anger instantly dissipated right then.
  • In such circumstances, adults were inevitably prone to certain thoughts. This was especially so for him as he had once shared an intimate relationship with Abby.
  • "Spread your legs," he ordered, his voice sounding somewhat dry and hoarse.
  • Abby was wearing a dress today. At his command, her body trembled, but she didn't move.
  • Her timid voice suddenly broke the silence in the quiet air.
  • "Dr. Hawkin, will it hurt the baby?"
  • The playful smile on Jeremy's face froze instantly. "What do you think?" he asked in a deadpan voice.
  • Clenching her fists, Abby suddenly opened her eyes and forced herself to look up at the blinding light. She muttered, "My father said that children conceived because of mistakes shouldn't exist in this world."
  • Hearing that, Jeremy smirked at her. His gaze was chilling.
