Chapter 27

• The elevator came to a halt at the 16th floor, and a tall, slender woman with mid-length blonde hair stepped in. She was dressed in a figure-hugging, low-cut black dress that ended mid-thigh, paired with black heels. Confidence seemed to radiate from her as she greeted Dylan with a mischievous smile, "Good morning, Dylan."
• Annalisa was taken aback. No one at the company addressed him by his first name unless they had a personal relationship with him, and this woman didn't appear to be his sister. Annalisa had moved away from Dylan when the elevator stopped, so she was now pressed against the back corner, with the woman standing between her and Dylan.
• "Good morning, Jasmine. When did you get back from your vacation?" Dylan asked. Annalisa couldn't decipher his emotions based on his reaction to Jasmine. She hadn't seen him interact with many people, so she couldn't determine what Jasmine's significance was to him. However, Jasmine's expression suggested she either desired Dylan or had been involved with him in the past.
