Chapter 24

• Annalisa was halfway through her pint of ice cream and the second season of a popular TV show when a knock at her door interrupted her. She hadn't really been watching the show anyway, her mind was preoccupied with the events of the previous night. She was grateful for the distraction.
• She paused the show and walked to her bedroom to grab a silk robe her grandmother had given her. It was one of the few luxury items she owned, and she treasured it because it was a gift from her grandmother. As she was mentally reminding herself to check in with the realtor about the house, a more forceful knock sounded at the door.
• "Coming," she called out, tying the robe around her as she made her way to the door. She unlocked and opened it, revealing an unexpected visitor.
