Chapter 8
- CHAPTER EIGHT
- JAYDEN'S POV
- I got up earlier than usual and freshened up to take my son to his school.
- I had plans to show the new nanny to my son's teacher and everything about his welfare.
- After getting all dressed up, I called Henry on the phone and after a couple of minutes he showed up in my room.
- "Did you deliver my message to her?" I inquired, referring to my son's nanny.
- "Yes boss."
- "Good. How's that imposter doing? Has he spilled the truth out?"
- "Not yet boss. He's not willing to open up."
- "Let him be then. I'll make him confess tonight. What's on my schedule today?"
- "Contract finalisation with the Coup Group of companies. Also, I rescheduled the meeting with Mr. Adams on the new project and dinner date with Miss Fiona, daughter of HITZ Group.”
- "I don't think I'll be able to attend the dinner date with Fiona. Send an apology letter to her and reschedule it some other time and make Mr Adams come over to the company so we can discuss the project."
- "Okay boss."
- "Let go." I stated and headed out leaving him behind to bring along my laptop bag and the contract documents.
- I got downstairs and didn't catch the glimpse of my son anywhere which made me head to his bedroom.
- I was expecting to see them up early since I stated everything inside the envelope to her to be up early today.
- I was about to turn the door knob when I heard laughter coming from the room which made me halt on my spot and wondered what could have made both my son and his new nanny happy this morning.
- Without any warning, I pushed the door open and found them on the bed unprepared.
- "What's the meaning of all these? Didn't you go through the message I sent to you?" I asked.
- "I did, sir but Max, didn't feel like going to school so I had to cheer him up. I.. I'm really sorry sir." She explained, getting off the bed and standing straight up with her eyes glued to the floor.
- "It's true daddy. Auntie didn't do anything. Please, don't scold her."
- "I'm sorry little champ. I didn't mean to react that way in your presence."
- "It's okay daddy. Good morning." He uttered, rushing up to me.
- "Morning champ. You need to get ready for school, okay? I want to show your nanny around your school today also I've a lot to take care of in the company."
- "Okay daddy." He replied and rushed off to the bathroom.
- "Good morning sir."
- "Make sure you get him ready immediately. Also, get ready as well." I ordered and made my way out of the room.
- UNKNOWN POV
- "F**k!!! You mean he didn't spare a single soul from the men?" I asked furiously.
- "Yes master. He's a fr***ing monster!"
- "But it's a good thing he doesn't know we're the ones behind the attack." Steven, uttered which made me send him a deadly glare.
- "Yes young master but there's a problem. One of the men we sent to poison that maid has been caught."
- "Shit... This is a serious problem indeed. What are we gonna do, father?"
- "You're the cause of this problem, you spoiled brat. I shouldn't have assigned any responsibility to you in the first place."
- "But father..."
- "Don't you dare say a word or you won't like the outcome. Joe, is the person in question paid a lot of money to keep his mouth shut?" I cut him off with rage.
- "Yes master. Also, we had his family captured."
- "That's not a problem then. He won't say a word as long as his family is in our custody."
- "We're in safe hands I guess for now. Steven, I want you out of this country for a few days. I don't want you causing collateral damage to the effort I've made over the years."
- "You can't do this to me father."
- "I've and I will. You need to go and get your head cleared somewhere quiet before coming back."
- "I don't deserve such treatment from you, father."
- "Joe will help you with whatever you need. Let me handle things the way it should be. I'll see you in a few weeks, son." I declared and exited the living room.
- It's the best thing to do by sending him off for a few weeks so I can plan my next execution before he ruins all my hard labour.
- SARAH'S POV
- After having breakfast which Max insisted I joined him and his father. We stepped out of the mansion and got into the same car with Mr Russell along with his son in between us before the chauffeur took off.
- I felt really uncomfortable and scared to the bones that I was that close to a mafia don who kills anyone within the snap of his finger.
- I still haven't gotten over last night's incident. I was scared to death when his personal assistant gave me that envelope without any brief explanation of what the content contained.
- At first, I thought it was a note of warning but after going through the content I felt a bit relieved it wasn't what I was thinking.
- **
- After a few minutes, we arrived at a magnificent elementary school which got my attention so much that I was lost admiring the beauty, almost forgetting I was with my boss.
- "Auntie, come with me. I want to show you around." The little boy said, pulling my hand.
- I couldn't help but follow him since he insisted. I followed him leaving his dad behind. We got to the kindergarten section as he pointed out to a door.
- "That's my class, auntie. I'm in grade K."
- "That's wonderful, Max. You need to work harder so you can move on to grade one, okay?"
- "Okay auntie. Can I go meet my friends?"
- "Yes, you can." I replied with a smile as he rushed inside.
- "Follow me, I want you to meet someone." I heard a thick masculine voice which happens to belong to Mr Russell before he walked ahead of me.
- "Oh.. okay sir." I stuttered, trailing behind him.
- **
- After meeting with the principal of the schools and Max's teacher, we head back to the kindergarten section to bid him.
- "Make sure you remain a good boy, champ." Mr Russell uttered, caressing the little boy's cheek.
- "Okay daddy."
- "Good boy. You can go back inside."
- "Okay daddy. Bye, auntie." He said, waving to me.
- "Bye!" I responded back and tried to meet up with his father who was already leaving.
- "Mommy, can you help me with my shoelace, please?" The little boy requested which made his dad halt on his spot.
- I was speechless and shocked by the boy's sudden outburst. I don't know what his father might be thinking right now. Oh, God! Why did this have to happen to me now?
- The moment his father twirled around, we both locked eyes for the first time.
