Chapter 10
- SARAH'S POV
- I was daydreaming about meeting my own prince charming who will love, respect and promise to hold me tight and never let me go when the words of the driver pulled me out of it.
- "We've arrived ma'am." He added as I stepped out of the car and walked inside the majestic school.
- It was time to pick Max from school since his father had made it a must for me to pick the kid from school.
- I was about heading towards the kindergarten section when I heard him address me as 'mommy' from behind.
- I twirled around and found him inches aways from me with a big smile on his face.
- This is the second time he has addressed me as his mother. I still don't know how to tell him I'm not his mother and his father doesn't like it.
- Speaking of my boss, his eyes were bloodshot when he heard what his son called him. I was expecting the worst from him when we locked eyes together but he just turned around and left without uttering a single word.
- I have been restless since he didn't say a single word this morning but I'm sure I'm in deep trouble when he returns from the office.
- How do I stop the little kid from calling me mother again? What happens when he calls me mother in front of his father again? I really don't know what to do right now.
- "Mommy!" He called out again, wrapping his arms around my waist.
- "Hey little boy! How was school today?" I asked, bending to his position.
- "Fine, mommy. Let's go home." I answered, smiling.
- "Okay baby but there's something I want to tell you, okay?"
- "Is everything okay, mommy?"
- "Everything is fine dear. Your daddy isn't happy with the way you're calling me mommy."
- "Oh... Is he angry at you?"
- "No dear. He just doesn't like you saying it but you can call me by that when we're alone. Also, you have to keep it as a secret from your daddy, okay?"
- "Okay, pinky swear. But can I call you mommy now?"
- "Just for today, okay? You can't call me mommy around people too, okay?"
- "Okay, mommy. I want to speak to my daddy on the phone."
- "What's wrong baby? Is everything alright?"
- "I want him to come home early today."
- "Don't worry baby. I'm sure he will be back early. We don't have to call him because he's busy at the moment."
- "Okay. Let's go home."
- " Sure baby." I smiled warmly, holding his hand as we headed outside.

- "Aunty! I'm back." Max yelled, rushing to hug Aunt Kathy who was waiting for us at the door.
- "Oh, my little pumpkin." She chuckled, hugging him dearly to herself.
- "I made your favorite today." She added, as they both pulled away from the hug.
- "Uhhh! Chocolate cake." He gasped in surprise.
- "That's right, little pumpkin. But first, you have to follow aunty here, to clean you up before coming over to the dining area to get it."
- "Really aunty?"
- "Yes, little pumpkin." She smiled as he rushed towards me.
- "Let's go and get prepared, mommy. I promise to share the chocolate cake with you." He uttered, which got Aunt Kathy surprised.
- "What did we talk about, baby?"
- "Oh... I forgot. I'm sorry." He pouted.
- "It's okay. Let's go. I'll go get him ready aunt." I uttered and rushed towards the stairs with him leaving her in the midst of her thoughts.
- I know I have got an explanation to do to her. I know she will understand more better unlike Mr Russell who might be feeling I'm influencing his son to address me as his mother.
- I wonder where and where I will start explaining from. Dear God, please help me deal with this situation at hand. I don't want to get on my boss's bad side.
- JAYDEN'S POV
- I got back from the office late and found Aunt in the living room along with Max's nanny chatting and laughing away.
- "Good evening, aunt." I interrupted.
- "Good evening son. How's the office today?"
- "Great, Aunt. I'm exhausted at the moment. I want to get some rest."
- "Good evening sir." Max's nanny uttered, staring at the floor but I ignored her.
- I still can't put the thought of hearing my son address another woman as his mommy and more surprisingly to his nanny.
- It's really something I need to take into consideration whether to let her continue with her job or not.
- "Jay, there's something I want to discuss with you."
- "Can't it wait till tomorrow, aunt?"
- "It can't Jay. It's about Max."
- "What happened to him? Is he alright? Where is he?"
- "Calm down, Jay. He's absolutely fine, sleeping peacefully in his room."
- "She has to excuse us, aunt."
- "It's also about her and she has to be here."
- "I'm all ears." I reacted, taking a seat on the sofa facing them.
- "I know what you must be thinking about Sarah right now but trust me she would never think of influencing Max in any way."
- "Where are you heading, aunt?"
- "I heard him address Sarah as his mother which is one of the reasons why I told you to hire a nanny. He has always craved for his mother's care and love which is the only reason why he feels attracted to Sarah. Please, don't take it serious and decide to fire her."
- "How come you trust her so easily in the space of just a day? This is one of the more reasons I find her mysterious."
- "I can tell who is being sincere and Sarah is someone with such quality. What I'm saying is don't misjudge her for making Max address her as his mother."
- "Very well, aunt. I'll think about it. Can I head to my room, I've plans tomorrow."
- "Okay son. Thank you for understanding my point. Good night."
- "Good night. Aunt, can you make me a cup of coffee?" I requested.
- "Of course, son. I'll have it sent to your room in a couple of minutes."
- "Have her sent to my room." I stated and headed for my room.
- I can't believe aunt is in support of this mysterious lady. There's something special and strange about her that I've got to find out. I'll have Henry do a background check of her by tomorrow.
- **
- I was on my bed going through the images of the new project Mr Adams and I discussed in the office when a soft knock came on the door knowing it was my son's nanny.
- "Come in." I uttered as she walked in holding the cup of coffee on a tray.
- "Here is the coffee, sir." She stammered, standing by the door.
- "Bring it over here." I ordered and got off the bed.
- "Where should I...?" I didn't let her finish her words before taking the coffee from the tray.
- "Why didn't you report my son's activity to me today?"
- "I thought you might be busy, that's why I didn't call you." She sundered.
- "What was my rule?" I fired, which made her flinch in fear.
- "I... I'm sorry sir. Please, forgive me. I won't repeat the mistake again." She begged, falling on my feet.
- "My rules must be followed if you want to survive under my roof but you seem to not understand, Mrs Weston. I hate it when anyone tries to disobey my rules. I torture the living hell out of people who fails to follow my line and you just did, today."
- "Please, forgive me, sir. Please, sir!" She begged, wiping bitterly which made me feel pity for her.
- I have never felt pity towards anyone who disobeyed me but here I am, feeling pity for this mysterious lady.
- "Get the hell out of here before I change my mind." I snarled as she got up and rushed out.
