Chapter 3 Floral Bath
- It was apparent she had misunderstood the situation, so Darren explained, “Please remove the flower petals and roots, then put them into the bathtub. My boss wants to take a bath. After that, you can leave when you have finished.”
- It was only then did Kaitlyn heaved a sigh of relief.
- “Okay, I’ll do that right now.”
- When she went in, the bathtub was already filled with steaming hot water, and the water was so warm that the heat steamed up the entire bathroom.
- Following Darren’s request, Kaitlyn removed the petals and snipped off the roots swiftly as she snickered, That man seems so mighty and aloof, yet he enjoys taking floral baths!
- The more she plucked off the petals, the more she felt that this was a bit odd. Well, taking a floral bath is perfectly normal, but why did he insist on using peonies and their roots?
- Is he trying to cover up something?
- Kaitlyn was deep in thought when Darren entered the bathroom with a tray in his hands.
- There were over a dozen herbs in that tray, which he threw into the tub without saying a word.
- At once, a strong medicinal smell filled the entire bathroom.
- Oh, so he’s taking a medicinal bath!
- Kaitlyn immediately realized she had misunderstood the man. Embarrassed for herself, she quickly dealt with the rest of the bouquet before clearing up the stems and the wrapping paper on the floor.
- Standing up, she told Darren, “Sir, it’s all done.”
- “Alright then. Come on, let’s head outside, and I’ll make the payment.”
- Kaitlyn nodded and followed him out.
- Hearing the sound of footsteps, Jordan left his book aside and stood up, glancing in their direction.
- When he saw Kaitlyn, he faltered for a second, seemingly surprised to see her, too. Then, he came over to them and inquired, “Is your kid alright?”
- Taken aback, Kaitlyn quickly answered, “She’s fine. Thank you for your help earlier, Sir.”
- The man was at least 185cm tall, and his authoritative presence was utterly overpowering; hence, Kaitlyn felt rather shy and reserved.
- Without saying anything else, Jordan nodded with a calm expression and headed straight towards the bathroom.
- He took off his clothes in the steaming bathroom and wiped off the mirror fogged with steam.
- At once, his reflection appeared in the mirror, showing the four scars on his shoulders.
- The scars differ in size, but they were clearly visible.
- Deeply lost in his thoughts, Jordan recalled what happened a few years ago - how his grandfather had pretended to be sick and tricked him into going to the hotel so he would have sex with Winter back then.
- What happened that night was all too fast, and when Jordan woke up, he saw Winter in his arms. Even though he couldn’t recall much, the blood on the bed told him everything that happened last night. However, he knew clearly that the one he had slept with was not Winter.
- Five years ago, that woman left those scars on his body as she had dug her nails into his shoulders forcefully.
- He snapped back to reality and made his way to the bathtub. But just then, something sharp stabbed his foot, making him howl in pain as the sensation shot through his legs.
- Frowning, he bent down to pick that ‘thing’ up and saw that it was a woman’s ring.
- The design of the ring was simple, and it looked relatively cheap.
- Why is there a woman’s ring here? He thought while furrowing his eyebrows.
- Suddenly, the woman, who delivered the flowers to his suite, popped up in his mind.
- “Is this hers?”
- At the same time, Kaitlyn was in a jovial mood when she left the presidential suite because the man’s assistant had paid her handsomely.
- The bouquet of peonies plus the delivery fee totaled to around a few hundred, but he had paid her double the amount.
- Just as she was wondering if she should buy some gifts for her darlings, Winter stepped out of the elevator.
- “You?”
- Upon seeing Kaitlyn, Winter’s brows scrunched up in disgust.
- However, Kaitlyn had no intention of arguing with Winter, so she turned to leave.
- To her surprise, Winter stretched her hand out to stop her. “What a coincidence to see you here. Why are you here?”
- “That’s none of your business,” Kaitlyn replied coolly.
- Winter sneered, “Yes, it’s none of my business. I was just curious as to how someone penurious like you managed to enter this floor.”
- “If you can, then why can’t I?” Kaitlyn responded as she met her gaze.
- Hearing her words, Winter’s expression froze. “You’re nothing but a florist. How dare you talk back to me? Seems to me like you don’t need the remaining balance for the flowers earlier!”
- “What do you mean by that?” Kaitlyn’s face fell at once.
- Indeed, the crew had not settled the balance for the roses she delivered that evening.
- Upon seeing her reaction, Winter raised her chin arrogantly and declared, “I’m not satisfied with the roses you delivered earlier, so I’ll just ask them to hold the payment. Don’t even think about getting the full payment.”
- Having said that, she turned to leave.
