Chapter 12 Revenge
- The bodyguards sprang into action immediately.
- Kaitlyn could feel her blood boil as she watched helplessly from the side.
- Her eyes reddened as she tried to stop them. “S-stop! You’re ruining my shop!”
- However, before she could get any closer, Bruce reached out and grabbed her by the arm.
- Then, he shot Jordan a cold glare which the latter outright ignored.
- “I didn’t know you were so unreasonable, Mr. Hartman,” Kaitlyn snarled.
- Her impression of him had been pretty decent up till that point.
- However, all she had left for him was hatred and anger.
- Jordan glanced at her, a little surprised.
- Before he could say anything, Winter piped up arrogantly, “What? It’s not like we can’t compensate for the damages!”
- Kaitlyn clenched her fists as she trembled angrily. “Being rich doesn’t mean you could go around bullying people like this! I’m calling the police now!”
- She turned around to go to the counter but was stopped by Bruce. “Calm down, Kaitlyn,” he chided.
- Angry tears threatened to spill out of Kaitlyn’s eyes right that instant.
- A wave of helplessness washed over her once again as she took a deep breath.
- The shop’s gone for good...
- All those years of hard work have all gone to waste...
- She glared at Jordan and Winter for the last time before running upstairs with tears blurring her vision.
- Meanwhile, her two kids could hear the ruckus downstairs loud and clear, despite staying huddled in their rooms.
- They rushed forward the moment Kaitlyn returned, each latching onto one of her legs. “Mommy, what’s going on downstairs? Is everything alright?”
- Kaitlyn looked at her kids lovingly and wiped the tears off her face. “Everything’s alright. We’re moving the shop elsewhere, so Mommy called the movers over to help us out. Don’t worry.”
- Her kids nodded, albeit still a little skeptical of her answer.
- ...
- After a while, the noise finally died down, and the shop had pretty much been reduced into a pile of rubble by then.
- Jordan stood by the side with a frigid expression, staring into Bruce’s eyes the whole time.
- However, Bruce made no move to stop the bodyguards from destroying the shop at all.
- “Done yet? Now get out! We don’t care about the money,” he growled.
- Jordan smirked. “I’ll pass Ms. Stone the money personally as compensation for the destroyed goods.”
- “Don’t you dare touch her!” Bruce snarled at him. “Or else...”
- His eyes flashed dangerously as he hurtled a threat towards Jordan.
- “Or else what?” Jordan asked. “You’re going to kill me?” He scoffed and rolled his eyes.
- “Let’s go!” Jordan said, waving his hand. Turning around, he left the shop with his bodyguards jogging after him.
- Outside the florist, Winter looked at Jordan with a smug smile on her face.
- Feels good when he’s there for me!
- Trailing behind him, she hurried up to Jordan and linked arms with him as she cooed, “Are you coming over tonight?”
- To her horror, Jordan simply gave her an emotionless look and said, “I’m busy, Ms. Addison. Please go home.”
- Winter’s face fell immediately.
- Pushing her aside, Jordan headed straight for his car. He then slipped into the driver’s seat and sped off into the distance.
- That night, Kaitlyn and her kids moved into a condominium that Bruce owned.
- Her kids were in shock over the whole situation, and Kaitlyn could feel the fatigue settling in as she rushed back and forth between taking care of her kids and cleaning up the shop.
- The shop had been the fruit of her labor, yet it was gone within mere seconds.
- Gritting her teeth, she forced herself to stay calm.
- Meanwhile, in the study room...
- “Mr. Jameson, the edited footage is ready. We trimmed the video and left the part where Winter Addison called in the bodyguards to trash the shop intact.” Xavier reported.
- Bruce Jameson’s eyes gave an eerie glint. “Send it to the media. I’m sure they’ll love it.”
- “Yes, Sir!” His assistant, Xavier, replied before excusing himself from the room.
- As soon as Xavier left the room, Bruce sneered. “I won’t let this crime go unpunished!”
