Chapter 59

  • Freya heaved the air around her into her system, filtering through the various scents. There were only two individuals that she could smell, besides herself and the yummy-smelling wolf. Both males whose scents were so familiar. At least she could be sure that she wasn't in the grasp of danger. What surprised the most is that one of the scents seemed comforting that she kept heaving it. Hopefully, whatever reason she was brought here was for good because if she didn't make it out of there, nobody would give a crap to even notice that she was missing.
  • Even though she was supposed to complete Dante's strength, she bet he wouldn't care. He didn't give a crap that she didn't want to be claimed by him. For that matter, he would be too busy trying to build an alliance with the other pack and if that meant using her to get it, he happily would.
  • She wished she could say that it was just because he was so desperate for an alliance. But no, he already had a reasonable number of alliances with other packs. He simply didn't have time for her because, as an Omega and a slave, she was a blow to his pride, an aberration in his bloodline. He hated her because, as he had seen her right from the beginning, she was his weakness. She put his 'greatness' into question for the rest of the pack. Or so he thought. He certainly wouldn't bother noticing that the one mate that would make him a true Alpha was missing. He would be glad. Her disappearance would be an excuse to challenge the Moon goddess.
